To be absolutely honest Navid, my hands are definitely bigger than yours and I thrive on Japanese sticks. I basically hold the stick a different way than I would an American stick.
Japanese sticks are by far better for fighting games than american sticks though.
Eg. American sticks cannot do standing 720, whereas japanese sticks can do standing 720s (still very difficult). Im still striving to that point but no luck. lol
so there is still no ubc division?!?..lol

i’ll have to disagree with you though… japanese sticks AREN"T better than american ones for fighting games. if anything, it’s preference. i actually prefer american sticks for fighting games… and for standing 720’s. doing three sixty’s is a lot easier on american sticks… i use zangief… trust me, at least for ME, they’re significantly better for spinning around and around. besides, a buncha japanese guys said that parrying is easier on american sticks… and they’re right. now the thing is, unlike japanese sticks, where they’re all basically THE SAME. there’s good american sticks, and then there’s garbage ones… like the ones at ubc!

i can do standing 720’s man, i think on both sticks, but american ones are the easier for me
the 8 click thingy is just garbage, and the degree of which you have to press an american joystick is smaller than a japanese one. plus i can’t grip the japanese ball as well as the american one, where i can just grab with my whole hand. i do hold the stick differently from you though, maybe that’s why you’re having problems with the american sticks
i can’t really believe you said japanese sticks are better for fighting games… that’s like the most subjective thing i’ve ever heard… and you haven’t REAAAALY said any supporting evidence. as far as i know, the instant return-to-neutral without inputing the opposite direction aspect of american sticks is just too awesome. and i have to press a direction less distance for it to be inputed on well suited for tao american sticks, as opposed to japanese sticks where i have to press a super loose ball further, and manually place it back to neutral when i’m done with it
wave-dashing on japanese joysticks = hell
but they are better suited for other stuff… like fireball motions etc

It’s a matter of preference. End of story. It takes time to adjust to either stick. I like Japsticks better only because it’s the only one I play on.
