Unlike other tournaments I am not charging a venue fee or anything of that sort. I make no money off of this tournament at all. I just want to recharge the gaming scene in Sacramento to the once glorious mecca it once was.

The $2 is on top of the entry fee for each tourney if you enter both games its only $2 plus the $20; if you enter 1 game its only $2 plus the $10. I can lower the game fee to $5 but to bring out top gamers the prize pool has to be big for them to even make a trip to Sac. The $2 will be collected and accounted for and the prizes will vary from a SF4 stick TE or Tekken 6 combo/pack. The prizes may vary depending on how much money is in the pool.

Since this is the first tournament; seeding will be random, but for the others they will be seeded based upon previous points accumulated. The prizes are incentives to come out and enter the tourneys on a regular basis. And there will be a conciliation prize as stated in the previous post.

I use to run tourneys in Sac several times when the Gameroom was still open. So I have experience in running a smooth tourney. I also helped out at the MUGA tourneys as well when I was in school.

a few things…

  1. might want to do a poll on entry fee. since one of ur main goals is making sure there’s a good first turnout. $5 might be great incentive for locals and ppl who don’t play sf4 hardcore. and $10 is good for higher level players that either seek high level comp and/or the top 3 pot. having the entry set to what the majority wants will prolly help with turnout. (imo, poll vote with “$5, $10, don’t care, other” as the options would be good)

(i don’t know if you can add a poll to a thread after you already made it)

  1. you mentioned season. how often will these tournies be held? weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, undecided until first turnout?
  1. i like the the use of the registration fee to encourage consistant turnouts. how do you plan on dealing with situation like

player A: joins tourney 10 times and has 3 points
against
player B: joins tourney 9 times and has 1 points

will it just be given priority to the person with highest entries first then lowest points after?

  1. i think it’s spelled consolation
  1. might want to seed by region on the first tourney and then seed top 4 thru # (depending on entrants) and then region priority after that. i’ve seen a few complaints about seeding before, so you want to make sure seeding is clear

  2. after each tourney, list the total registration fee pot. that way you avoid ppl calling it shady and lowering the tourney’s rep

  1. only cuz it looks awkward, was there any reason why it’s not 70/20/10? or just randomly chosen like that.

looking forward to this tourney

Well thanx for all the questions.
2. The season will be 4 months long and the tourneys will be held on a bi-weekly basis.

  1. The point system is being tweeked out right now so there will be no confusion later on.

  2. Seeding will be regional and random but overlap will occur in some cases, but I will try my best so that the field is spread out.

  3. The reg. fee pot will be updated after each tourny. As most people who know me I am not the shady type. If I say I am going to do something I do it.

  4. The pot split may be changed to something like that so we get a solid finals match and none of this splitting stuff like I have seen before but will be based upon turnout of the first tourny.

Oh BTW since the restaurant is “officially” closed that day; money matches can occur after the finals.

Hmm…

Interesting. Looking forward to seeing how this goes.

ditto, Sounds great and hopefully there’s a good turnout.

No worries about that! I got 10 old school gameroom peeps going! Lol bringing back the crew!

What!?! Restaurant closed!!! I was going to go for the fish and chips but if it’s closed… I’m not so sure any morel. My day’s ruined.

Closed to the public but not for the gamers! We will be serving food for those who want some delious fish and chips among other things! Drinks etc etc! So if you get hungry I can whip up some food

j/k I’m in.

omg only 10min from my place yayayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
when is the first tourney ?

L2Read. OPEN YOUR EYES KOREAN.:wow:

Hopefully we do this every week. If we get good turn outs.

Gameroom vs MUGA money matches?

I’ll try to make a couple of these.

Can we get BB in there? =P

If enough people want it I can oblige it on the side.

I will be there!

This place is near Reed’s Ribs. If the resturant is not open for business, then I’ll get food at Reed’s.

Look. :d:
