Bringing Sexy Back - Nemesis Discussion Thread (Pg.18 and beyond)

you can’t grab someone who’s in blockstun. I reckon the only way to set it up would be to DHC from dormammu’s lv 3 creator that prevents jumping, and even then it’s not really worth the effort.

Hopefully capcom understands this and fixes some things. His damage is good, but as it stands now he’s going to be stuck as a damage-dealing utility in a team, and nobody really needs those.

I know you can’t grab somebody in block stun, since when you have you been able to do that? : P
I meant post recovery once they’re grounded.

True true.

And yeah that might work. We have to find something that will make someone want to stay grounded for a half sec after being in blockstun, especially when they know that his command grab is an option.

The problem is that it’s a level three with a gigantic super flash. Pretty much if you hold UP you’ll be safe from it so long as you aren’t sleeping.

On the stream that super was interrupted twice by regular jabs. Not a good sign.

True that. : (

There’s lots of vids in this channel. I’m going to be watching them.

How do you guys know the level 3 is not a 0 or 1 frame grab? I’m sure it will be useful, like xfactor alpha counter out of blockstun > lvl 3.

It’s not like his whole game will revolve around it though. I’m hoping he is more of ranged keep away style character with a little bit of armored rushdown like hulk.

Launcher Slam Assist: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5DpH7XPJTvc#t=1m26s (not an overhead).
Clothesline Rocket assist seems to suck http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=imfDYMESuRw#t=52s

Ah, the level 3 may be for fools dashing, or whiffing grounded moves.

Because, like I said, it gets beaten out by a jab twice near the end of the stream, meaning it can’t possibly be 0 frame.

What would be really cool is if he could cancel his rocket launcher by detonating it. The splash would make it safe and not whiff against everyone. I saw a vid of him doing his shoulder cancelled into rocket and it just whiffed over the other character.

Maybe they jabbed before the startup hello? It’s a little to early to make concrete assumptions. When people test it, or I see frame data, or if like Seth or someone says if it’s instant or not then you can say for sure.

yeah the rocket whiffs a lot, even the jumping version. the angles he fires and the height of him as a character just make it really really hard to hit anyone with it. Didn’t look fun at all, to be honest.

it got interrupted after the ‘HUH’ sound that lv 3’s make on activation. You’re probably right in that after it plays his animation it won’t be jump-able, but it seemed like there was plenty of time to react to the flash itself.

On one hand its good because its two options in one, and the first one [S]otgs[/S] wallbounces, and we dont know how much invulnerability it has yet.

On the other hand if someone blocks the first hit, its a free combo as they can hit him before he shoots out his rocket. Happen several times on one part of the stream. Also the rocket shoot so high its going to whiff many times.

Didn’t you mean wallbounces?

This huggable rocket-toting powerhouse is the sole reason I’m giving the mvc3 series another shot.
I just hope there are some really good assists to make him shine.
(Tbh I wouldn’t know what to look for in teamates. I’m a noob at marvel)

Our boy seems to have a command normal or special move which is a shoulder tackle with some super armor on it.

He also seems to have a version of his command grab that goes directly above him.

His entire win pose sequence. Poor cameraman never catches a break.

Definitely a command normal, it is cancellable into his launcher. So now he has at least two armored moves.

So we’ve seen the rocket shoot straight ahead and at a 45 degree angle. Is it safe to assume his third shot is identical to Taskmaster’s vertical shot where it goes straight up and than down a few feet in front of Nemesis?

Not sure how a rocket would fall back down, but I guess it’s possible.

At least he might be able to deal with jump-ins with that command grab. I was worried he wouldn’t have AA options. Though no canceling on his dashes is a bit of a let down.

Also, his assist call is kind of annoying after a while. Grrruurugh.
