Wow, never have my hopes been raised and shattered in such quick succession. I will purchase either way since its BoF, but damn Capcom… really? Looks like what Ragnarok 2 should’ve been smh.
I don’t have anything against mobile games. I’ve made a few myself, and played several others. What I *am *against is trying to bring a console experience to a device that isn’t built for it. If Capcom or whoever’s developing this game can make BoF6 work, then more power to them. Being an RPG, it’s not going to be something that requires precise controls or a perfect frame rate. What I’m actually bummed about is that Capcom appears to be going with a MMO route for BOF, and there’s a chance it’ll stay there. We lost Phantasy Star that way, and BOF might be next.
I was hoping this, along with titles like Suikoden and Wild Arms, would some day get sixth installments. This makes me regret wishing for that. I suppose some franchises are just better left ending on a (reasonably) high note.
Capcom really likes to somehow ruin every single good franchise they have, huh? The really awful thing about it all though? DmC is the best of the bunch. Like… who would ever see that coming?
RIP BoF that I once knew. You were dope.

R.I.P. Breath of Fire. You will be missed…
EDIT: How the hell do you get the video to show up now?
The news of Breath of Fire’s name being sullied would have hurt more if I hadn’t heard that Square Enix is doing the same thing to Star Ocean had the benefit of numbing me so the pain is lessen.
Still, I guess a series needs its crap installments, even if knowing Capcom they will probably kill it if (I hope when) this bombs.
…WHAT??

BoF already had it’s crappy installment with Dragon Quarter.
Breath of Fire 3 was always my favorite of the series the music, characters, and sprites were awesome especially the ending scene sprites. I can’t believe that they decided to put it on smartphone rather than making a console release for it. I didn’t expect much from the series anyway oh well.

Dat final boss (Goddess Myria) music + Rei transforming into the Weretiger = Full POW! meter for me
That shit always gets me hype!
Borrowed and beat the first game, haven’t played the second to this day (though I hear it’s pretty damn good), have and beat the third and fourth (Scias is my nigga for real) games, and refused to play Dragon Quarter…
Capcom is simply going where the money is. Mobile games like Candy Crush Saga makes over half a million a day. Thing is BoF is an RPG and RPGs are not what mobile gamers play, nor is the genre that popular on phones so this game is gonna get buried under all the Korean trading card games starring female designs that didn’t make the cut for Tera Online. If Capcom wants to increase their fiscal operating income they should make an Onimusha tile matching game or a Resident Evil bubble shooter.
If the way they’re doing BoF is any indication, I don’t want Capcom touching my beloved Onimusha.
Then only appropriate reaction to this news…

Fruit Ninja 2.
Star Ocean was never good.
BoF was. Once.
The story was better in BoF 2, but BoF 3 was way more entertaining.
First Strider and now this.
Like it or not, the days of Capcom making quality games based on their most cherished franchises are long gone. Making money comes first these days at Capcom.
Are people really comparing the Strider game to shit? Really? The Strider game looks legit.
The Strider game looks like it could be pretty good.
This game looks like straight-up shit stained ass.

Forgive me then for introducing you all to Onimusha Soulthen? Not as bad as a tile game but basically it dangles beloved Capcom icons from various games as DLC for you to purchase… a potential console/handheld (they didn’t announce which but since it is already a browser game one can only guess) release was part of the same announcement that the BoF abomination was included with.
