Breaking Bad

Just don’t let anything happen to Saul. In a perfect world there would be a sitcom spinoff about Saul.

Breaking Bad spinoff ideas:

  1. A cop show featuring Hank and Gomie.

  2. An L.A. Law type legal dramedy featuring Saul Goodman & Associates.

  3. And, of course, a sitcom featuring the week-to-week dealings of Walt, Jesse, and Tuco.

Breaking Bad could have turned into something resembling the third, given that they originally planned to keep Tuco around.

wow really? I really wished there was more Tuco. Just seeing him take bumps and go from mild mannered sociopath to batshit insane was a treat. I was always on the edge of my seat when it was a Tuco scene.

I’ve heard it two ways: Raymond Cruz didn’t want to keep playing the character and he wasn’t contractually obligated to do so, or he simply had some kind of conflict that prevented him from staying on.

The Gus character was developed to fill the niche that Tuco would have occupied.

right, and death would be good and easy for him

this and game of thrones is the only shows I actually follow these days. Anyone can recommend other S-tier shows?

Point.

Actually, there was one bit of (what I perceived to be) foreshadowing that was never followed up. In the fly episode,

Walter White vs. Seth Brundle. Go!

[details=Spoiler]While they chase the fly around the lab, Jesse mentions that his aunt once had a possum living in the walls in her house. Long after the possum was gone, she was convinced she could still hear it moving around, which is how they found out that cancer had metastasized in her brain.

Later on, well after Jesse has killed the fly and they’ve gone home for the day, Walt sees the fly again in the blinking light of his smoke detector.[/details]

Wow. I sped right past that ep on my binge-watching spree of season 3, but I wouldn’t put it past them to weave that into the storyline for S5. You know Walt had that cough. Maybe it’s not a reaction to the medication this time…

I’d probably find that too, but I just can’t bring myself to watch the whole ep from beginning to end for some reason. I think Dragon Ball Z has forever steered me away from filler episodes…

An episode that doesn’t move the plot isn’t necessarily a filler episode.

I know, but in terms of Breaking Bad, it kind of felt like one to me.

There are some great character moments between Walt and Jesse that alters your perception of their relationship in the episodes that immediately follow it depending on whether or not you’ve seen it. It’s definitely not like DBZ, where the filler episodes are of absolutely no consequence to the rest of the series. Take 'em out, put 'em back in, and the experience is just the same.

Tuco had me on edge every second he was on screen. Awesome character.

Thank God there is a Breaking Bad thread on here this show is absolutely amazing can’t wait for sunday  been watching the reruns on amc these past few weeks. To me there is no bad episode everything is just great haha.

Really upset I don’t have cable at my apartment, I’m going to need to find a way to watch online somewhere. The Fly episode is one of my favorites, Jesse and Walt sort of connected. I wonder how Jesse is going to figure everything out. Also what is Walt’s play from here? No Gus, no distribution network, right?

Considering how many cray twists the show has thrown at us many of which haven’t been foreshadowed I wouldn’t be surprised if Walt lived and Jesse died.

I don’t know what happened, but it got to me. I’m so ridiculously hype for this shit now that I could punch a wall.
AMC’s site has the comic-con trailer and a minute of a sneak peek from the first episode.

Vince Gilligan and Bob Odenkirk are down with the Saul Goodman spin-off idea, and this article also proposes “Breakfast With Walter, Jr.”

I propose another spin-off: the daily adventures of Mike, grandfatherly deliverer of balloons and ice cream by day, professional badass-for-hire by night.

Mike having a spin-off would be fucking amazing, an old hit-man and fixer by night, kind old grandfather at day.

Trying to keep a balance and not let the two lives interfere with each other.
