I’m chucking (or clucking) it up to artistic license on the part of the writers being cheeky. He’s the chicken man and chicken’s are known to walk for quite a bit before dying when their head gets cut off.
final season speculations!
Spoiler
The head of the Galindo cartel said “The only reason you are alive is we know who you are”, this is way before Gus had a distribution network so he’s clearly talking about something else. Who is Gus really? What is that multi-national german corporation who is powerful enough that the cartels won’t kill Gus? I guess Heisenberg is going to find out.
Also, I’m guessing Hank already knows that Walt works for Fring but kept it to himself. Hank is too smart not to know. Hopefully they team up next season.
Oh BTW, Walt left that basement grill open when he escaped from the house. That is definitely going to come back and bite him in the ass.
16 more episodes!
I heard the bomb scene got leaked two weeks ago and it’s probably somebody who worked on the Walking Dead effects team since they also did the effects for this episode.
[details=Spoiler]That was an amazing finale and season. Gus walking out dead… Salamanca’s acting in his final scene was godlike.
…I won…
Two questions though. When/how did Brock get poisoned, yeah it was Walt but did he force feed the kid these berries? How did Gus’s henchman, (Tyrus?) miss the fucking bomb strapped to the wheelchair?
Next season Jesse puts Walt in a barrel.
[/details]
[details=Spoiler]The bomb wasn’t strapped to the wheelchair yet when Tyrus checked the room. Walt was still outside waiting. They didn’t go into the logistics of brock’s poisoning though. Understandably, it would ruin the pacing if they did any flashback scenes in this episode especially if it’s just about Brock.
That scene with Walt and Jesse meeting in the rooftop, there was a shot zoomed out inside the parking struture and I could swear I heard a camera sound taking one shot then a speeding car. The car is probably a herring to mask the camera sound though but it makes me wonder who’s watching. It’s probably not Mike since he might still be recovering in Mexico, plus he doesn’t need to collect evidence, he knows where to find the two of them and just kill them. Was it DEA or someone else? Does Gus have any other henchmen still alive other than Mike? [/details]
Been sleeping on this show for a long time and finally got started on it last week. Amazing show.
Spoilers don’t bother me cause I have no idea wtf any of you are talking about since I just now started on Season 2.
Agreed, the hope I had was he would always keep the little morals he had. I am not sure if you watched a show called “The Shield” but it seems this show will end on a bad note. Anyway I guess this is what the creators of the show planned when they made the title “Breaking Bad”…
I think the writers of this show did the right thing by showing how smart gus was always being ahead of everyone else but exposing his flaw as a human being wanted to get revenge. Anger could cloud anyones judgement
That black henchmen dude dropped the ball when it came to looking at the bottom of Salamanca’s chair. I think that everything would have fallen apart if he would have bothered to looked down.
There was a continuity error purposefully put in to make the story work.
If you look back at the video, when Gus walks in and the henchman turns the chair around the bomb isn’t showing, but then just before the bomb explodes and when they pan down the bomb magically appears, now if you where to imagine where the bomb is and also how large it is right before it explodes and rewind to where Gus goes into the room the bomb would have been obviously seen in the shot when his chair turns around.
Good editing makes you forget that little detail. If Mike was there, he would have found the pipe bomb. I think it would have worked better if they showed an xray shot of the pipe bomb in the urine containter.
Just looking back, I am bothered how the dude could have sweeped for bugs and wireless surveillance but failed quickly check Hector Salamanca’s chair to see the football sized bomb sticking behind the wheel of the naked chair.
[details=Spoiler]Next season will most likely be Gus’ BOSSES coming after Jesse and Walt. remember that in that commercial about los pollos hermanos they are owned by the same german engineering company that supplied Gus with so much of his equipment for the lab. Also remember that this business “big enough to go on the NASDAQ” has indeed gone belly up and it wasn’t all Gus’ business… he had suppliers and partners and i’m sure he also had INVESTORS and those are the people walt and jesse are most likely going to have to deal with next season
not to mention eachother… lily of the vallley X____X[/details]
[details=Spoiler] they don’t want Walt to go to the dark side are forgetting that he already has. The moment he let Jane die he already was there. He always had the capacity, but great peril and a survivor’s instinct gave him the mental opportunity.
The whole premise of the story centers around Walt’s need to control his own fate. Here was a man who made many decisions that negatively affected his life. He was a defeated man whose proximity to death gave him a deeper respect for life, an acknowledgment that he can control his fate, for better or for…[/details]
[details=Spoiler]Walt’s reaction to hearing that Brock was recovering was genuine. It seemed odd at the time, given that he would be more relieved for Jesse’s sake than anything else, but he had a very personal stake. He didn’t want to do it, but viewed it as necessary.
And that’s how this show works. Give a character an unpleasant decision to make. The character makes the decision. Next time, it isn’t so hard, and before you know it, it’s business as usual. We’ve seen Walt go through this process many times now.
Some loose ends that will likely come into play:
Walt’s family, even Skyler, still don’t know the true nature of what he’s done.
Jesse doesn’t know about the poison.
Mike is still out there.
Hank is still on the Heisenberg case.
The explosion of a DEA-surveilled laundry is not going to go uninvestigated.
None of Gus’s top henchmen are around to get rid of the computet with all that incriminating video evidence.
The nursing home thing was pretty obviously a drug hit, confirming suspicions about Gus.
Walt’s cancer may very well come back.
The pinkertons who came after Jesse pretty much stated outright that they’re going to stay on him.
I dunno man, it’s probably just a difference in perspective but I feel like theres a distinction between letting a druggie die from their own actions and poisoning an innocent child.
