Breaking Bad

yeah i agree, Gus wouldnt have mentioned that Jesse was an addict if he wanted him dead anyways.

Doesn’t make sense, they would infinite opportunities to kill Jesse if that was the case, and they would also be taking out a potential Gale 2.0 cook if need be. Not to mention their visible approval and the fact that Gus denied him the poison liquor.

Walt is purposely being humbled from a storyline standpoint, events will occur to put him back in the game soon.

Gus

[details=Spoiler] That poison may not be immediately lethal, but I think the long term consequences may be dire enough.

If Jesse were to poison him with the laced cig it would look less rsuspicious and advance both of them. Jesse could make a power play… but he is loyal.[/details]

Hmm…

No way that Mike was going to shoot Jesse right there. They wouldn’t waste Jesse’s death like that. That scene was just too subtle and quick to be anything more than an editing mistake. [/ my amateur speculation]

I, too, thought of why they wouldn’t just let Jesse drink the poison if they wanted him dead. But Mike and Gus had to anticipate needing Jesse’s help to at least get Gus back to the car.

However, I still think Mike was just scanning the perimeter.

I think might was scanning the perimeter, and got popped in the belly. Mike is to Jesse as Obi Wan is to Anakin, as this point.

there’s no way mike was going to shoot jesse. they’re balls deep in enemy territory with Gus feeling the effects of the poison. they needed him at that point in time too much.

Yeah I dont know where you guys are getting that. The gun is clearly pointed to the right of jesse.

I dont know about you guys but after watching that scene a few times, I’m 100% sure now that Mike was sweeping the area one last time and we can see he saw the shooter and reacted to it but just not quick enough.

And as some said, the Gus/Mike approval of him (no matter how subtle) doesnt support that theory. Either we all going home, or none of us.

Yeah, it’s just a sweep, but people are buzzing because these writers are pretty sneaky.

Case in point: Pause this video at about the 10 second mark and look at the bottom:
Now note that that clip comes from season 2.

If he was going to shoot Jesse, he wouldn’t have fed him that line and how they all go home or nobody does. He was definitely checking the perimeter, they’d already heard someone in the house who they hoped Gus had scared off.

Okay, I’m about half way through season 3 and I have to say that I do NOT like Jessee. At all. How many times can this moron fuck up?? It seems like Walt is just doomed to be shackled to this nimrod. Every time he seems to get away from him, circumstances bring him right back into his company (usually as a result of yet another Jessee fuck up).

Oh and every time he says “bitch” I want to punch a hole in the wall.

I like Gale though. I just saw the episode when he’s first introduced and I love the nerd “chemistry” he and walt have together. However, I’ve watched this show long enough to know happy moments never last and it will probably be Jessee-induced as usual.

I want to punch Skyler in the ribs every time she starts blabbing to her lawyer.

I’m posting this because it was from a couple episodes ago and I really liked it.

When Mike talks @Jesse (on why he’s been allowed to live)

Mike: “Its your loyalty…though maybe you have it for the wrong guy” (/smirk)

(^-- paraphrased)

I hated jesse until this season where I think he’s finally reached his moment of clarity and is manning up. Now its Walt who im losing my patience with.

Yeah. Walt has had too many “What the FUCK are you doing” moments. I know it was explained (he knows Gus will kill him at some point), but still… ugh. Walt is reaching Shane Vendrell levels of stupidity.

Guess someone we know is somewhere he isn’t suppose to be.

Aaron Paul was at the Roast of Charlie Sheen.

This show really delves into the strange sides of human nature. Like, what would be Gus’s motivation after this? He already has a successful legitimate business and does a dirty side job for 2 decades, which has netted him enough income to last several hundred lifetimes comfortably; wouldn’t it be better to just switch it up?

It’s like all his time and money goes into a business where showing too much “shine” would get one done in and thus unable to enjoy it. He has no visible affectations like women, car collecting, gambling, etc. to really show any ambition other than the very act of cooking, which he uses as a front in his day-to-day life.

Don Eladio at least relishes in the power, wealth and infamy, which makes the rewards worthwhile; but if Gus was just trying to attain enough wealth and respect to off the Don and avenge his slain comrade, then he technically could just *disappear…
*

I never thought of that. Perhaps Gus has the thrill of the business, just like Walt did after he had met his financial goals and kept cooking.

I’m wondering something though: what do you guys think was the “purpose” of them building up the personal bad blood between Gus and the Cartel? One could see Gus’ cartel manipulation before we found out about his original business partner (I forget dude’s name) as him doing dirty business. And poisoning them all? It would have hit us as viewers just as well had we not known about the first guy. Probably even better, because you’d have to have Dr. Manhattan balls to pull that shit off just to get rid of your enemies (no matter how connected they are). Yet they gave us this setup, and I’m wondering what it’s supposed to do from a story perspective. Was it meant just to humanize/flesh out Gus, or is it a subtle warning that Walt and Jesse are in WAY over their heads (because Gus doesn’t forgive and forget)? Don’t know, but I’ll be excited to find out.

BTW, I was remembering the old cartel guy, Tio, (really all that’s left) who can only use the bell at the nursing home. The way Gus was taunting him in 408, I’m REALLY wondering if Gus put him in that wheelchair without him knowing…

Last episode was really good, only second to the Hank assassination episode.

I’m thinking Gus is the reason Tio is in such poor health too, which probably caused the bad blood between Gus and the cartel. Tio definitely knows it was Gus, he couldn’t even look him in the eyes.

Also when Walt was drunk/high he called Walt Jr Jesse by accident

Holy shit. This show. This show?! This show, man…

So much in one ep…
