Typos are inevitable when you’re working with deadlines.
For a guide like this, I would rather that the writers work on the content till the very last minute, even if they end up having more spelling errors (as long as the frame data is error free, lol), than to finish ahead of the deadline so that they have time to read through it 20 times to clean out every last typo.
I’m pretty sure that that is what they did the first time round and I’m sure as hell hoping that it’s what they did this time around too.
;-; I was looking forward to reading the whole thing today. And now…and now I can’t. My hopes and dreams are crushed and I will no longer ever amount to anything because of it.
It was not available to me from any Gamestop in Phoenix before midnight of the launch date of the game. So no. Any examples of early leaks will be thrown out as they are always the exception.
Confirmed, just called the GayStop I go to. After checking the date on the site since September, it has said the 8th. I traded in Frauds of War 3 to pay for UMvC3 and the new bible and they said it was coming out the 9th.
They just told me over the phone that it’s now coming out Tuesday, at the same time as the game.
Not prior to launch you didn’t. It’s relevant right now because we’re in that “can we get it early period” where in Sept we were not. We don’t need people going “herp derp CTG said GS had it early for Vanilla so I’m gonna try my hardest to get one from GS for Ultimate.” You were dead set on it being true (for Gamestop…I’m not tracking Amazon…if you can get it early from them great…i’ve had bad experience with shipping from them). Looks like case-in-point is happening again. Hence all the GS updates. You don’t get it early from them and you didn’t before (sans some one-off leaks). If people want to score it before next week they’re gonna have to try somewhere else.
Because 99.9% of the time writers have nothing to do with the release timings of their work. When a book comes out is between the retailers and the publishers. It seemed more likely that a writer, who we normally would expect to have second-hand information at best, would be misinformed than the largest retailer for the product in question.
Obviously I was wrong in those assumptions. Hence “seemed” and “would normally expect.” We’re obviously super hyped to get our hands on the amazing work you’ve done. I’m just explaining the thread of logic that ran through my hopefulness that you were incorrect in your assertions.
Lol, thread should probably be closed. Who gives a fuck about getting early or late; most of everyone who wants it will have it within a week of game release anyways.
Dr. D, thanks to all of you for your good work. I’m sure I won’t personally be disappointed.
