Well, well…I usually dont root for Pac but I will have to change my mind. I know I said I would side with Cotto if he ever fought with Pac. I cant do that, my boys would put a slug in my chest if I did that. At least for this next fight I will side with Pac. Margarito was a fucking hero after that fight, he sadly tarnished his career. Why stoop to that point?
no one’s hating on pacquaio, if you’re dumb ass could read you’d notice that there isn’t one post in here thats taking anything away from him, it’s just dumb fucks like yourself who think bcuz pacquiao is the p4p king NOW that somehow takes anything away from PBF. look at their resumes and they’ve done almost identical things, if DLH actually had any belts @ 147 for pac to take i think they’d have almost identical resumes, not sure though.
but anyways, if/when PBF/mayweather does go down i’mma have to make sure i’m back home in jc so i can take all of my the flip community’s money lol.
and as far as freddie roach, he has issues with both mayweathers and calling somebody a coward for taking on a fight against a guy (JMM) that your fighter doesn’t want to fight anymore is laughable especially when that guy is also #2 p4p.
also PBF didn’t fight cotto/margarito for the same reasons that pacquiao’s not gonna fight them, he’s naturally smaller than them and unless the money is right there’s no point…which is why he fought baldomir, who at the time btw was the guy that everyone was supposedly scared to fight and we see what happened there.
oh and just to get everything in this post…the reason i’m not sold on hatton being a great fighter is bcuz all of his post-coming to america have been terrible with the exception of tzsyu and the body blow knockout on collazo. i can’t get over the fact that he looked like shit against lazcano (who is/was a complete nobody) and malignaggi vic wasn’t particularly impressive consider my grandma probably packs more power than good 'ol paulie…but i digress.
How the fuck is Mayweather vs Marquez a bout struggling for ppv buys? Freddie Roach needs to keep his ass in the gym and off the press. I understand everyone has a hard on for old p4p#1 vs new p4p #1 but come the fuck on, please stop underselling Marquez.
Also I agree about hatton and his coming out in America being poor. Compare it to Calzaghe who everyone swore would get owned up fighting an American fighter.
Regardless both these fights are ridiculously solid. Mayweather obviously would be a favorite over Marquez.
If Pacman does choose to fight Cotto all the Cotto fans can be redeemed at not getting to see him fight Mayweather by instead getting to see him fight the CURRENT p4p, which is just as valuable.
wow just read that, and again pac’s people are smoking crack if they let him go into the garden against cotto @ 147. he better be getting crazy paper for that fight…or at least arum is lol
No I’m a boxing fan and I have said numerous times about Tzysu Mayweather was going to fight him but he lost against Hatton then retired.
If you’re repping PW don’t bring up JJM being 135lbs. You know with Mayweather he is actually moving up in weight to fight fighters, rather than drastically cutting his weight to beat smaller fighters.
No, haters have a trouble remembering who he fought that was a HOF, because the conveniently forget things. What does his father have to do with him we’re talking about Jr here.
Lol, and you’re the boxing fan? The fight with Winky Wright was a disgrace, the guy has passed it and should retire. Hearns actually took on good fighters his size. Paul Williams is complaining that physically smaller people don’t want to fight him, but because his name is Floyd he is not ducking individuals like Pavlik.
You know Floyd is not a natural Welterweight right, so he really has no obligation to ‘‘clear out the welterweight division’’. Should Pacquiao now clear out the Jr Welterweight division? Should Pacquiao clear out the lightweight division, you know there are many people in that division who called Pacquiao out for a fight? Is he ducking them?
if pac beat pbf, mayweather sr would still have things to say. he’s the same guy that said that DLH should’ve got the decision over his son.
i can’t really cosign this paul williams hate. he’s really tall and he can make 147 with little effort, so he should be able to fight there without it being said that he’s picking on little guys, it’s not as if he didn’t start his career there or anything. winky wright didn’t look particularly washed up or done, he just looked outclassed and confused which makes sense when you’re fighting a tall ass guy that throws 100 punches/round for a whole fight. i personally would like to see cotto or sugar shane against paul williams, that fight makes more sense than pac vs. cotto to me.
oh and i like how now gatti, judah and baldomir are now all trash when at the time they pretty much the publicly mandated people for PBF to fight.
Was listening to the early Pacquiao interviews this morning. He was on his personal bus back to LA and got stuck in a jam, and had nothing better to do. The reporter asked him if he would attend any parades or victory parties. He said yes, then pulled a Spider-Man.
“With great power comes great responsibility”, he said, in that accent of his.
“I have no doubt that boxing fans will flock to Mayweather and want to attack those that expose him for who he really is. Be my guest, let him rip you off and then give you a lousy one-sided fight versus a 36 year old opponent. Does it mean anything that when he beats Marquez he’s beating a guy much smaller than him, who Pacquiao had down three times in the first round back in 2004. Does it say anything that he didn’t even make Oscar De La Hoya look bad and actually lost rounds to him, and then Pacquiao dominated Oscar and retired him? Oh, and Shane Mosley beat Oscar more convincingly in 2000 than Mayweather did in 2007. Yet somehow everybody goes crazy over Mayweather. Can boxing fans be that starved to see a great fighter?”
So what? Does Ali victories against Frazier mean less cause he couldn’t KO him early like George Foreman did?
“If there is one boxing fan alive who ever believed that Mayweather was really retired for good, they better go back to watching reruns on the ScFi channel. The truth is Floyd Mayweather was never retired, nor did he ever let himself get out of shape. Incidentally, the second part of that is commendable. The first part is a joke. All Floyd has been doing is waiting around for the guys in his “real” division to either get old (Shane Mosley) lose (Miguel Cotto), get beat up (Antonio Margarito) outgrow the division (Paul Williams) and fall off the radar (Kermit Cintron).”
So what if Miguel Cotto loses. Does he magically become a bad fighter? Hell he could be a fighter now then in the past. If Mayweather beat Cintron before “he fell off the radar”, people probably make some excuse. Same with Margarito. This article fails.
What is Mayweather’s “real” division if it isn’t welterweight? He’s been fighting at that weight class since 2005 and even went up to junior middleweight to fight De La Hoya. Not only did he won a title at junior middleweight he beat both the lineal and former lineal champion in Baldomir and Judah.
If welterweight isn’t his real division, then why didn’t Mayweather go down one division to junior welter while Marquez moves up and meet half way? He wants the weight advantage like against Hatton.
147 may not be his “real” division but he’s made it his home for the past four years. To say that he shouldn’t even consider fighting the current top welterweight fighters and have smaller fighters go up in weight to fight just seems too protective for the so called “best of all time”. Either go down (or up) and fight in his “real” division or fight the top fighters in his current division. But, unfortunately, that isn’t how boxing fights are made.
