Welterweight fight today: Joshua Clottey vs. Zab Judah (HBO)
This is a interesting fight for the IBF title. The winner will probably fight Margarito ( if it’s Zab Judah, Marg might not want to fight Clottey twice) next in a unification bout if a rematch between Margarito and Paul Williams doesn’t happen next. Most know Zab Judah and what he brings to the table, but Joshua Clottry is the one to look out for. He keeps his guard high and is a very good all around fighter inside and out. Clottey was beating Margarito easily when they met in Dec. 2006 on Showtime, but Clottey injured both hands. If anyone thinks Margarito is unbeatable, Joshua Clottey has a great chance. This fight might be a showcase for Clottey against a big name that had so many chances (Zab).
On showtime: Dimitri Kirilov vs. Vic Darchinyan. When Vic fights, a good chance we might see a knockout. - the winner will face Cristian Mijares <—stylistically, is one of the best fighters pound for pound
Hard luck for Judah I guess, though he should have lost by TKO.
Also, I hope someone knocks Margarito out in the near future. I don’t hate on him, I just hate on the hype surrounding him now. I guess they are trying to milk him as much as possible.
lol it seems like judah has lost 2-3 fights in a row, i’mma have to double check this shit.
wow the judge pretty much called bullshit on zab. that said, i’m glad clottey called out my man berto, hopefully berto can take care of business and then move up into the upper echelon of the division.
Good win for Clottey. Much deserved. Sets up a unification fight with Margarito if Margarito doesn’t fight de la Hoya or a fight with Paul Williams doesn’t follow through. I haven’t followed Andre Berto’s career until he got on HBO, but a fight with Clottey would be a good test for him, but Clottey has too much experience on Berto though. People shouldn’t be fooled with Berto being a legit titleholder (WBC), he only got the belt because Mayweather retired.
Clottey (IBF) vs. Berto (WBC)
Margarito (WBA) vs. Paul Williams (WBO)
The winner of these two fights should fight for the undisputed welterweight championship, but that would be too logical of a match making to do.
I agree that Andre Berto is a talented fighter. His promotion is bringing him up well. Berto is fighting Steve Forbes in October I believe.
But, a suggested Berto fight with Clottey might be too early for Berto ‘at this point’. I see Clottey stalking Berto ( just like he did to Judah) down the whole fight if they would fight leter on the year.
Hey guys, I just started boxing three months ago and I love it. I go to the gym everyday I can and spar every available time. My biggest problem is my stamina though, I run almost everyday (I only don?t when Im hangover or have to work pretty much all day) but I get tired way too easily. I have tried different breathing patterns when I through my punches and nothing seems to work. Well, it?s getting gradually better but not THAT much better. Anyways, if anyone knows any exercises other than running that I could do I would like to her em.
**What I don’t understand about the Judah/Clottey fight is, how you gonna get your ass tore out the frame like a wedding picture after a divorce settlement THEN sit there with a grill in your mouth during the post-fight interview? That shit’s hood like a uncircumsized penis AND THE NIGGA HAD JUST LOST!!! That’s like me getting my ass whooped in the club like Lil Wayne then stepping to the baddest chick in there with a busted nose and a gold grill in my mouth. It wouldn’t work like Phillip Michael Thomas’s music career.
Zab’s fuckin up like P.Diddy’s inability to pull out before squirting.**
holy shit swimming is a cardio beast…and as funny as this is…ddr is also really good. i know it sounds odd but that game works ur cardio and leg strength like a g.
i know this 15/16 yr old girl who swims…jesus her shoulders are fucking gigantic. its almost freakish.
Now, onto September where the lightweight division takes the spotlight.
Two good fights this weekend:
Jorge Barrios vs. Rocky Juarez ( don’t sleep on this undercard)
Juan Diaz vs. Michael Katsidis <-------- barnburner. But with Katsidis glass chin, even a fighter like Juan Diaz with not a lot of power could knock him out. I say Diaz KO 10th based on Katsidis chin.
Joel Casamayor vs. Juan Manuel Marquez
Nate Campbell vs. Joan Guzman
Since Pacquiao moved into the lightweight division, everyone followed suit and with solid fighters already there, making 135 the hottest (best match making) division in boxing right now.
my top three divisions:
lightweight (135) Pac, Marquez, Juan Diaz, Casamayor, Nate Campbell
light heavyweight (175) Hopkins, Calzaghe, Roy Jones jr., Kelly Pavlik, Tarver, Bad Chad Dawson
super Flyweight (115) Christian Mijares <— the best P4P stylistically
Not sure if anybody is intrested but results for a night of British boxing:-
Amir Khan vs Breidis Prescott - Prescott KOs Khan in about 30 seconds of round 1 (for those that don’t know khan had mentioned Pacman before this! )
Alex Arthur vs Nicky Cook - Cook wins WBO title with Unanimous Decision
Audley Harrison vs George Arias - Harrison wins very boring fight (again) Points 98 - 92
Yeah Pacman would cave his chin in. I feel a bit sorry for Khan I wanted him to lose because people hyped him too much ( Hatton, Mayweather, Pacquiao and Margarito etc are people they thought he could beat). I didn’t want him to get fucked up in that manner though shit is emotionally damaging.
True. It is not down to him when the claims of who he can beat come out. The promoters should look at themselves. What is in his favour is that he is only 21 and has plenty of time to come back if he can get past the emotional damage as you say.
amir khan got clonked… no one can say they didnt see this coming. i’m suprised people compared the guy to naseem. khan isnt even close to being on nas’s level.
