No one is debating the career of Tito or Jones. We’re laughing at your obvious swinging form Tito’s nuts and still catching feels from his loss 2 DAYS AGO. I can picture steam comming from your charcoal looking head as you post on this thread
its not so much that i don’t want a hyped fight…
i think what got me is that it seemed like roy didn’t respect tito at all period. me personally, i look at tito as one of the best fighters ever. a great fighter in his prime…and to see jones disrespect him repeatedly and toy with him got to me.
i don’t get hyped off of stuff like that. i thought trinidad carried himself pretty well considering all of that. had it been another fighter we would have seen a lot of dirty stuff, i think.
thinking back, did anybody see that punch when jones kinda had his hands down at his sides and then lunged foward?? if you blinked you woulda missed. if tito got hit by that he would have died.:shake:
this coming from somebody that has been TRYING her hardest to bait me into responding to your trolling? LOL.
ugh, how …N/M
See, but the thing is, Jones is old and has been considered to hang up the gloves. Of course you’re gonna go out with a bang(if this is his potentially final bout). He has nothing to lose really. He’s already done it all. When Michael Buffer announced ALL the belts he had won, I felt pretty damn ashamed because Tito only has like, 3 belts compared to Jones collection.
This fight was 9 years too late. Jones would have pulled off the same ordeal back then as he would have now because Tito is stepping up to the plate. This was Tito’s fight. That’s how I basically viewed it.
yeah, i agree.
I meant to step in here earlier. But i was cool with the fight. RJJ is my fav boxer but he really should’ve retired right after the ruiz fight.
I was telling my peeps bulking up and then dropping the weight was really gonna hurt him and it did for a few yrs.
RJJ looked good vs Tito. Tito was at a disadvantage, Im not gonna clown tito because tito is one of my favs too. Tito needed this win as a morale boost. Like shit Im at the end of my career if i can bulk up and beat roy then i can stay boxing for a couple of more yrs.
Roy only has like 1 or 2 good fights left . maybe one, All i know is i dont wanna see him get knocked out again.
Id say call up Bhop And say yo, 4get that ish i was rapping about back in the day when we did the live interview after our fights…lets do this–fight we’ll split the purse bro 50/50.
And oh yeah Bhop b4 i go
Ya’ll must’ve forgot!!!
Remember when i beat you for the IBf,
The right was hurt, beat you with the left!!
I give Roy Jones a lot of credit for coming back, calling out Calzaghe after losing those three fights the way he did and had a good performance at the age of 39 and being a former heavyweight champ slimming his body down. I’d give Trinidad credit, he did better then what most people said before the fight. If Trinidad wants to keep fighting, he should go back to middleweight and fight other fighters that came up from welter-junior middle.
Tito needs to go down to 140, he is to ineffective at anything over that
at his age idk if he can drop 30 lbs and be effective, that’s pretty much what led to jones’ demise, no?
Tito’s body has matured to the point that there is absolutely no way hes getting below 160 ever again. Roy was a particularly severe case because only fighters in higher weight classes are even capable of shedding 30 lbs of muscle. Cutting that much water and fat is rare in any sport let alone muscle.
I felt as if Tito did actually look good especially in the first rounds when he was throwing combinations. He just needs to fight someone without A+ defense for once. Theres a ton of high level competition that he has a great shot at beating, but Tito is a proud dude so you can’t blame him for taking a challenge. Oscar and Tito no matter how out of shape can survive on instinct alone. Imagine how someone other than Floyd would have done against Oscar; he would have had anyone else on their back. Most fighters in losing look better than most do winning.
Look at Zab Judah, hes out there giving the best fighters in the world their toughest fights. If his opponents didn’t happen to be named Floyd Mayweather and Miguel Cotto you can bet it would have been an early night. I’ll never understand why people complain about Zab getting title opportunities when after a loss hes still more dangerous than any undefeated fighter. A loss doesn’t necessarily bring someone from 100 to 0 instantly or make them no good. Just as I said previously the styles should always be considered. Just because Ricky Hatton got a W against Tszyu that doesn’t mean Kostya wouldn’t have faired better against Mayweather.
The examples are especially abundant at the highest level. Quartey was working De La Hoya over yet he clearly was outfought by the same Fernando Vargas that Oscar absolutely punished.
That shit is gold. :wgrin:
Zabb vs Hatton would be bannanas!
Anyone get the year end awards Ring? The one with Mayweather on the cover(Though I know there’s several -__-), pretty decent issue, Epic Lulz at the Bagg Awards though ;D, also hyped up for the new Joe Louis hbo movie coming on in a few weeks, pretty much every Louis Documentary/Book I’ve read really just covers his boxing life, with very few focused on the not so nice aspects of his life during and after his boxing career, so it’ll be interested to see any new tidbits/information revealed.
I could never find an issue of the Ring magazine. From the local gas station to Barns & Nobles. I would like to start reading that mag.

It’s wrong up how the government fucked over Joe Lewis. From what I read, he donated most of his fight earnings and the government took away all his money reducing him to be a “greeter” at a Las Vegas casino.
(waiting for Pavlik vs. Taylor II)
There are some good non-PPV fights this week:
On versus: Kendall Holt vs. Ben Tackie
Espn 2: Darnell Wilson vs. B.J. Flores ( this one should be a barnburner)
Yep, one of the parts he got superbly fucked on is when he donated his entire purse to the U.S. Navy Relief Fund, and the IRS considered that as taxable income. , I’m sure that’s not the only problem though, and am very interested to see just what new stuff is going to be revealed.(As much hype as it’s getting it had better have some brand new material, or atleast stuff not covered extensively in other Joe Louis media).
Also read over at Maxboxing that the Golden Boy is planning three more fights for his career, including a Sep. rematch with Pretty Boy, and in GB’s corner is…DUN DUN DUN Flooooooooooooooooooyd Mayweaaaaaather Sr.!!! <_< Nothing personal to Freddie Roach of course.
The only Mayweather Sr. is going to bring in Oscar’s corner is," USE YOUR FUCKING JAB, MAN!"
The only thing different DLH will do the second time around is using the jab frequently, double it up and keep sticking it to Floyd Jr. That’s what he should have done the first time around. I don’t see Floyd falling for that shit, not after the Hatton fight.
A li’l late but, speaking of Donaire, sappy:

There was a Gorres-Darchinyan fight here last Saturday, but it was a controversial draw.

do we really want to see De Le Hoya get out boxed again by Mayweather? I know I don’t.
TO be fair, De La Hoya screwed himself by not doing what worked. Like Stylistics pointed out, when Oscar actually remembered that you can jab in boxing, he was able to keep Mayweather from dancing around him, apply some light pressure, and create openings. It’s when his ass thought he could get away bullrushing and using his hooks that he got outdone in typical PBF fashion >_<.
