Boxing Thread

floyd sr. has been saying pac is on juice since pac/hatton. and you can’t have a good point if all of your arguments to back up that point are biased opinions.

PBF’s camp proposed 14 day prior and pac’s camp wouldn’t agree to anything less than 24 (after te 24/7 footage came out), so…yeah. and if you don’t think any credible journalist would bs a story then i guess you believe tony atlas that pac’s camp was very concerned about what penalties pac would face if he tested positive…

pac/clottey in 2 days…i don’t really have an opinion on the fight since i haven’t seen clottey in action.

pacquaio should be able to take this easy. clottey is a tough fighter, but he doesn’t know how to capitalize and go for the win (IE cotto fight)

Yeah I thought Clottey outboxed Cotto in their match. He really blew it with that unlucky knockdown and not doing much in the last 2 rounds.

Clottey’s problem is his inconsistency more than anything else. In the case of fighting case Cotto he was a bad finisher but there’s also been times where he was a slow starter too.

@Thurst:

LOL, i guess it took you that long to contradict what i said…which…you really didn’t. All you said is that I’m biased…ok…that’s not a real argument. I just said the author raised a good point which i elaborated on but you fail to address any of it on any meaningful level. I think I may have mistaken who had proposed the 14 day cut-off but I’m pretty sure I read somewhere that the Pacquiao camp was willing to test immediately after the fight…so what better solution do you need beyond that? I also just recently read about how Mayweather Jr. lied to police regarding a shooting incident about his whereabouts at the time and his knowledge of the incident. I mean, innocent till proven guilty or whatever, but if Mayweather isn’t interested in telling the truth to authorities you think he’d think twice about lying to the public? Shady fucker. But anyway, he’ll get his when he’s taken to court for defamation of character.

I’ll be catching the Pacquiao/Clottey fight this weekend. I hope it’ll be a good one, I don’t want to see a one-sided fight going either way. Looking forward to watching the undercards as well.

What are peoples thoughts on klitschko vs chambers on the 21st?

klitschko KO.

in case you didn’t notice this thread flies to the backpages of SRK pretty quickly. i didn’t try to “contradict” what you wrote bcuz between your misremembering of facts and rose colored glasses it wasn’t worth taking your “point” seriously, just like it wasn’t worth taking the author of that article seriously.

and what does PBF have to lie to the public about? the only he’s doing these days is promoting mayweather/mosley while the only thing i’ve heard from the pac camp (read: arum & roach) continue to bitch about the fight that arum sandbagged.

Klitschko by decision. It’s gonna be the same old Klitschko fight.

I think Pacquiao will win the fight by UD. I don’t see him KOing Clottey, Pacquiao headhunts too much Clottey has a pretty good high guard.

Based on the above, I feel that if Clottey was a more active fighter this is a fight he could win, as I don’t see him getting worn down or hurt severely in this match he just nothing to take control of the fight allowing his opponent to have their way with his guard doing little in return.

On the Pacquiao and Mayweather fight. More and more it’s becoming clear that this fight didn’t happen because of Arum and his plans with the owner of the Dallas stadium.

I think Clottey wins.

He is just too big for Pac. Pac is literally Little Mac live in this fight.

However, if he beats Clottey by KO, some legendary props are in order.

But I don’t see it. Too big.

Hey, this is a dumb question, but I don’t watch a whole lot of boxing matches. If the PPV starts at 9pm Eastern, does that mean Pacquiao-Clottey is at that time? Or are there a bunch of undercard fights first? If so, do we know at about what time the main event is supposed to be at?

Pac-man losing this fight wouldn’t rank very high on my upset scale, Clottey is actually a dangerous opponent for Manny…

I hope Manny and Floyd both win their upcoming fights in great style so they can further hype their matchup. Boxing needs that to happen… I still think on his best day Floyd beats Manny 8 times out of 10, but it’s still an intriguing fight.

^_-;

PPV starts 8 eastern/ 5 pacific, the main event will usually start around 10 or 11 eastern/ 7 or 8 pacific. Just depends how long the undercards are/ how much time they can stall (interviews, promos, ect.) for the event to start.

The Comcast poster here says 9 Eastern/ 6 Pacific.

So I’m kinda confused, I’m able to watch the undercard fights right now. Does this mean DirectTV messed up and I’ll be able to watch the main event? Or is it free?

There are streams for the undercard but not the main event.
