Holyfield took a blood tests before his fight with Tyson I believe. I also think Abraham took olympic style drug tests before his fight.
It’s not outrageous, it’s no damaging to your performance. People are speaking as though Floyd requested the largest possible ring, tried specifying gloves Pacquiao should wear, demanded a bigger share of the pie, tried hand picking the judges, choose a hostile location for the fight.
It should be noted that people actually fight under those demands regularly, Floyd pretty much signed to those requirements against DLH. Pacquiao wasn’t asked to cut his arm off, he was asked to give a couple tea spoons of blood at random dates for testing.
I’m not interested in seeing Yuri Foreman vs Pacquiao, I just don’t care much for the fight though if I was to make a bet, I’d put money on Yuri to win. I don’t think Pacquiao copes well with fighters that don’t stand and trade with him. He looked fustrated when Cotto was moving around.
That being said the Cotto vs Pacquiao fight looking back on it wasn’t that one sided. If Cotto didn’t get knocked down twice, I’d have given the first half of the fight to him 5-1. Going into round 7 he’d have had a whole lot of options and Pacquiao would be in a situation where he’d have to chase the fight.
Though credit where credit is due, Pacquiao won the fight clearly.

I was under the impression that it was going to be “random, multiple blood testing”. If that’s the case, I wouldn’t have any part of it either. Also, these olympic-style tests aren’t even required by the NAC, which leads me to believe that PBF is really just playing media games that will make Pac out to look like the “bad guy” in a passive-aggressive effort to be a bully.
If he were only concerned about steroid use, why not do a hair follicle test?

I’m not going to knock Mayweather for this. If you suspsect your opponent is on drugs it’s better to question it before the fight than bitch about it after the fight. Margarito and Cotto is a good example of this, it’s not doing Cotto and his fans a lot of good questioning whether Margarito loaded his gloves, he still has a loss on his career, his body still took a physical battering.

I understand your logic and can even appreciate your stance. Maybe if PBF weren’t such a dickbag outside of the ring, I would give him the benefit of the doubt. But as long as we’re forming opinions, I think PBF is putting on a lame ass media show to garner some attention and make Pac look bad. Quite frankly, I think that he’s worried about potentially losing his ‘0’ and is just being a pain in the ass to do business with.
If Pac really and truly was adversely affected by the blood tests during the Morales fight, then I can understand why he wouldn’t want to do it again.
