The Mayweather camp is trying to change boxing as we know it. You better line up the refs, the judges, the doctors, and EVERY boxing from now on in testing. I enjoy watching boxing and the skills they both bring to the table but this bull just needs to stop.

in all seriousness I believe this fight is going to happen and the only thing really going on right now is just a bunch of ego tripping by both camps. Just too much damn money on the line. I do kind of understand the point of view of Roach though as it’s more of a mental thing for his fighter or maybe just Roach not wanting to give into the Mayweather camp. Wouldn’t a bloodtest the day after the fight be enough to catch if someone was roiding. Be a damn shame though if this fight doesn’t go down.

pac, agreed to be tested 30 days before and right after the fight. right after, meaning, even whilst they are still in the ring waiting for the judges decision. is there any drug out there that would exit the human body that fast? imo, this is just distracting tactics.

Lance who’s been blood and urine tested 24 times between September and March of 2008, and got blood tested nearly every day and some times 2 times a day while the Tour De France was going on. Don’t forget that he had had to ride a bike up and down a hill for 2,000 miles. He never complained. He took pride in it, because its a chance for him to prove to the French and the rest of the World that he isn’t using anything illegal to win these races.
There are also the Micheal Phelps and Usain Bolts of the world who were poked and prodded and they came up negative for any type of Performance Enhancing Drug. Oh yeah, and they still dominated.
The 30 days before and right after the fight, testing that Pacquiao wants defeats the entire purpose of testing for Performance Enhancing Drugs.
To answer the drug question Piponaz. As it turns out, HGH, and EPO’s aren’t like weed that take sometimes 2 weeks to clear out of your system. Heck if you want a general run down of drugs that are out of your body with the quickness. Cracks in the system for 12 hours, Mushrooms 2-3 days, Cocaine about 2 days, etc, etc… Most drugs don’t stay in your system for that long.
HGH and EPO’s are out of of your system in 3 days, but the benefits of the drugs last weeks after they are cleared from the system. After all these Performance Enhancing Drugs are produced naturally in the body.
If Team Pacquiao is picking and choosing when to be tested, it defeats the entire purpose. Think about it. You pretty much KNOW when the testing people are coming. They are giving themselves a huge window by saying that they can only be tested before a certain date. After that date is up, you would know how long you could use the drugs, because you’ve set yourself up with a date in the future and can be tested no earlier than that date.
The fact is, random testing- even if the last test WAS 3 days before the fight- keeps an athlete on his toes, doesn’t allow him the opportunity to think he’s safe and dope between tests; and, at its heart, that’s the crucial element to USADA testing.

lol Dude, I didn’t want to say it before, because this is all going to be speculation (but since that’s like the other 80% of this thread anyway, I thought… what the hell, why not,) but the real reason why Manny doesn’t want to undergo the blood tests is because his science education growing up in dirt poor Filipino slums is close to zilch. I’ve seen it happen in my family–successful East Asian businessmen/engineer who grew up dirt poor, finally makes it financially but still can’t let go of superstitions from childhood. I wouldn’t be surprised if Manny has cuckoo vitalist theories about how using needles to carve tattoos on your body somehow increases the energy in the body but stabbing a needle in a few more inches causes the body’s energy to leak out.

Interestingly enough, since 2006 (starting with Morales), Pacquiao’s ring weight on fight night has only changed by 4 pounds. So Pac’s newfound ‘power’ may have something to do with him not cutting 15 pounds before the fight. Obviously, that doesn’t guarantee that he’s clean. But it does make you wonder what the hell Sr. is even basing his accusations off of.

This is turning into some massive bullshit. Both sides looking like bitches. Pac looking like he’s got something to hide and Floyd looking like he’s trying to chicken out of the fight. I don’t think either is the case but this fight may not happen because of it.
Someone needs to step in and get this shit in order. If this fight doesn’t happen they might as well pull the plug on the entire sport. Boxing hasn’t had a fight like this in many years and they may never get this chance for a long time. I for one would be seriously pissed if this falls apart.
