Yea, I’m totally bummed about RJJ’s loss today. On a better note, Andre Ward is going to be at Brittania Arms in downtown San Jose on friday to promote my boxing club!!!
lol @ everyone posting in those comments hyping up Danny Green as if he had just beat up on someone that wasn’t an old man.
Green is only like, 4 years younger than Jones, deffinately a difference but not a huge one
Still, kinda seems like Jones threw the fight, honestly hard to beleive
Be that as it may, I really have no idea how old Danny Green is. But I know that he didn’t start a professional career in boxing until 2003, which is right about the time that RJJ went WAY downhill (this may be arguable to Tarver fans). Point is, boxing puts a lot of miles on a man, and no one who considers themselves a fan of boxing will deny that RJJ is washed up and old. Has been for the last 7 years, IMO.
I don’t think for a second that RJJ threw the fight. He has been looking terrible for a long time, and a loss like that was inevitable to say the least. Please bear in mind that I’m a HUGE RJJ fan. He was the type of fighter that people everywhere wanted to see - Exciting, unpredictable, explosive, etc. He had all the good qualities that a great should have. But like I said, that was a LONG time ago.
Danny Green’s victory was totally legit, and I congratulate him for that. Now, let’s see him fight Andre Ward or Chad Dawson.
EDIT: So I just read somewhere that Green was pretty much a retired boxer as well. Is he trying to make a comeback or what?
I never got a chance to see this fight (saw the second one) and damn that was savage. Like Forrest really had a problem with Mosley. Forrest looked more like he was trying to fight Mosley rather than box him. That over hand right that came after that uppercut was just clean. You could hear that shit.
Watching Roy get his ass handed to him like that is so depressing.
Yep. I agree. But I knew it was only a matter of time.
Roy, PLEASE hang 'em up before you end up one punch over the line.
You guys know that Hopkins fights tonight.
And on the VS channel for those of you that don’t know. =)
R.I.P to Roy’s career did want to see him fight B-Hop in March, But now we get Floyd v Pacman on that date, let’s go Floyd.
That might not even happen. Or in May 1st either
Roach said that they’d be ready for March, Floyd says okay, and now Manny’s lawyer is saying no date in March. Manny’s political career is screwing around with the fight.

i can only imagine the type of shit people would be saying if PBF wanted to push the fight back for some similarly inane reason.
Seeing as people are still bitching about Mayweather now ( Saying shit like he only accepted the contract because he knew Pacquiao would reject it) you know he would be crucified if he turned down the contract.
Other thing is Pacquiao wants 60% of the pie. Whilst Mayweather agreed on 50:50.
seeing Roy Jones go out like that, I felt really down after watching that.
Hopkins is always in an ugly fight and as much as i like Hopkins, Tomasz Adamek (at cruiserweight) and David Haye (heavyweight) would KO Hopkins. Hopkins “might” have a better chance again Chad Dawson, maybe.
Paul Williams vs. Sergio Martinez - this should be a good bout, Martinez and Williams were two of the most avoided fighters, now they share the same ring. Martinez is a more skilled and bigger version of Carlos Quintana (who beat Williams); this should be an interesting match up.
Amir Khan vs. Dmitiry Salita - another interesting bout. i haven’t seen enough of Salita, but Khan should win this fight.
i believe in the myth of the b.hop, i don’t think dude can be KO’d lol
*’'Arum says pacquiao will win, and that?s why mayweather has been reluctant to do the fight??? Anyone else think that comment is funny? We?re talking about the same mayweather who came right out after the cotto fight, and said many would be easy work?..then he went on to sign the deal to fight him, after what, a WEEK of negotiations!
On the other side, you have pacman who has kept quiet?.you have Freddie roach, who first says floyd would be an easier fight than cotto?..then roach says march 13th is too soon to fight a guy like mayweather, not b/c pacquiao is hurt, but b/c mayweather has a difficult style to prepare for?..WTF? then roach says 60-40 split for pacquiao gets the fight done?.after the ppv numbers come out, roach says 50-50 gets it done. Then roach says they?d take the fight on march 13th, BUT FLOYD IS SCARED!!! LMAO!!! Floyd signs the deal for march, now roach wants 60-40 again, and pacquaio?s attorney has stated pacman won?t be fighting at all the first half of 2010. And bob arum has to fly all the way to the phillippines, unannounced, so he can sneak up on manny, convince him to come out from under the bed, and take the fight??
But floyd?s scared right?’’*
That’s what happens when someone calls your bluff lol. It’s clear as day that Floyd wants this fight. I hope the fight goes through that being said I don’t think the fight will go the way most people intend it to go.
I looked at the Cotto-Pacquiao fight again it highlighted to me that Pacquiao isn’t good at cutting the ring off, lacks head movements. As one sided as the fight was Cotto was effective when he was using his jab and outboxing Pacquiao. It also seemed that Pacquiao was frustrated when he had to chase Cotto as in he wanted him to stand in front of him.
I think general people think the fight will be a slugfest but if it goes Mayweather’s way it will be the outside for 12 rounds.
It shouldn’t be 50 50. Mayweather is better but not very entertaining to the masses. Most people just watch to the see guy he’s fighting; Hatton, Oscar, Marquez, even Judah. They have to put someone in there will chase him down all night to even make it a fight.
I don’t know man, people definitely pay to see PBF fight. I’d say that neither party deserves more than 50%. Manny should have plenty of campaign funds after this one.
yep, 50-50 sounds good but i read mayweather wants it at 154 + 10oz gloves. zZzZz
