I expected something like that from a dirty fighter in Barerra. He has such a history of doing so. Hitting Marquez while he was already down, his head butts on Rocky Jaruez I, the same hitting from the break in Pacquiao I, and the shoving Hamed to the turnbuckle. That was Barerra’s best hit on Pacquiao
It seems with the trouble of Pacquiao making weight and his “off the ring” escapades , it seems his heart is not in boxing anymore. I wouldn’t be surprised if Pacquiao announced his boxing retirement sooner or later.
yea, I should of said just “in the ring”. out the ring, he is a man with class. Barerra is probably going to represent/ manage golden boy’s Mexican stable as Hopkins has the east coast and Mosley has the west coast.
I think Cotto can definitely pull it off especially because Shane is easy to pull into a brawl. Both of their jabs are going to play a much larger role than most think. Although I think people take for granted the huge advantage those low blows gave Cotto against Judah. Also the fact that the entire Garden is going to shake whenever Cotto makes any kind of movement. Which kind of worries me because this fight is on the level that if it goes to a decision there is no telling who’s going to get it.
I thought the fight was a slight let down but Cotto showed tremendous improvement. As I predicted, Cotto’s jab played a huge role in his victory. Cotto’s ability to switch stance going southpaw and back impressed the hell out of me. Mosley’s combinations and defense were pretty much absent except for really small spurts. Mosley closing his eyes and Cotto spreading his arms following a 1-2 are things someone like Floyd would exploit all day. Joshua Clottey to me would be a more than sufficient warm up for Cotto. Hopefully Cotto doesn’t waste his time fulfilling Bob Arum’s dream of fighting Margarito.
The fight was super close, and they were trading all night, and there were numerous momentum shifts. Most of those shots would have knocked other guys down.
