How good is Antnio Rogrio Nogueira in boxing the MMA fighter, I mean he has won

Winner 2007 Brazilian Championship Super Heavyweight Brazil
3rd 2007 XV Pan American Games Super Heavyweight Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
That was a good fight. The stream lagged most of the 11th round and I couldn’t score it. So far I have Cotto and Clottey 104/104. I need the 11th round :/. I feel Clottey was the better boxer in this fight. He had good defence, had the better jab and landed better shots. He shot himself in the foot in the 12th round and should’ve been more agressive.
Great fight. I honestly think Clottey should have got the nod. You have to take the belt from the champion, in his hometown. I really think Clottey did more with his punches, tho he was in trouble many times. I think the 10-8 affected the scoring, but… the 116-111 card was ridiculous.
My heart was broken in this fight. It was a great fight, Clottey had the fight won, but gave the last two rounds away. I had it 114-113; Cotto. If Cotto didn’t shoved Clottey down. Clottey was fighting with a hurt left knee and it showed during the fight. When Clottey was turning his punches, he almost slipped several times and when he was pinned in the corner in the sixth round, he was hurting on that knee. Other then that, Clottey may have lost on the scorecards, but he was not a beaten man. Cotto took more punishment in that fight then Clottey.
But, great win for Cotto. He can look forward to a rematch with Mosley, calling out Mayweather and a possible Pacquiao fight.
Clottey is not the loser of this fight. He is clearly the number three fighter at 147:
Shane Mosley
Miguel Cotto
Joshua Clottey
Clottey is a warrior and I’m looking forward to seeing him again.
I thought Clottey gave away the last 2 from what I could see, the stream was bad (I don’t have HBO), but his defense was fantastic when Cotto caught him. I think Cotto needs to work on being more confident when he’s pressed, this was a lot different than when Margacheato pressured him late in that fight. Even tho Cotto stood his ground in close with Clottey I sensed a bit of panic. I think in what was it, round 6 when Cotto had Clottey hurt badly, he should have gone downstairs more. I give credit to Clottey for staying there till the end, he could have quit after he twisted his knee, he could have dug down more into his shots.
Mr Noodle covered it. No offence but you need to learn how to box. You don’t keep your chin tucked, you don’t keep your gloves up and you just swing. Watch more boxing matches and try shadow boxing whenever you can to work on your composure.
I personally had the fight 115:112 in Cotto’s favour. Though if I was to rub out the barriers between rounds I would give the fight to Clottey. The rounds I gave to Cotto were close in some cases the rounds I gave to Clottey were pretty clear cut as far as I’m concerned.
I personally think Clottey spoiled the fight in the last round somewhat, I don’t like when a fighter tries to get another fighter penalised which is what I felt he was trying to do. If he fought back in the last round and more so in the 11th I think he could have probably edged Cotto out.
I also have to give major props to Cotto, this is a good win for him in the sense that he can put the Margarito fight behind him. He endured and came back strong in the 11th and 12th. It’s a shame he couldn’t do that against Plasterito.
**How about I missed the fight last night? Missed that shit like Bill Cartwright trying to shoot a 3-pointer. I didn’t even know there was gonna be one. And if I did, I still woulda missed it because I was too sick to watch anything.
I agree with you 100%, no doubt. But there are some things that people need to think about.
1- I am very convinced that if the accidental headbutt didn’t happened Cotto would have won in a Unanim.decision. He would just do the same fight, but a LOT better, is hard to box/fight with just one eye.
2- Clottey whine too much. Sorry, I do admire him, but sorry. I can accept that the Bison throw could’ve messed him, but c’mon man, step up and keep fighting…or just box away till the end of the round.
3- There are two key rounds in ANY boxing fight, the 1st and the 12. In a close decision fight like this you MUST win those two rounds. If you know you lost the 1st round (like Clottey did), you MUST win the 12.
