Good point, you probably could, but im more focused on finding effective DHC’s into his lvl 1’s. But on the subject of his lvl 3, if its unblockable then you should be able to connect after hail storm, ammy’s mist and viewtiful joes slow.
It’s not unblockable though…and it’s slow as hell, hence the need for Stalker Flare or Harvest to actually connect.
As for his Level 1’s…you’re going to need to DHC out of Hypers that leave the opponent on the ground (not in OTG state though). If they’re in the air at ALL, both his hypers won’t connect properly.
I thought it was unblockable, thats rather disappointing but w/e. Then for his level ones, lemme see, dante and deadpools bullet hypers should work when done from close enough, and unless im mistaken joes slow hyper should theoretically work, since it leaves them grounded and in hit stun, the only question would be if it is dhcable that late into the animation and whether it leaves them in enough hit stun for chris’s hypers to connect properly. But his hypers don’t have to dhcable to be good do they?
I see Chris being used on point as a meter builder. Just lock down with grenades and guns, get that Boulder Punch Rekka like Combo in when you can, and just store up meter for whoever ur next character is.

does stun rod stagger foes like jun the swans forward c(2nd kick) or is it jus combo filler? if it staggers does the next hit lift the foe off the ground like juns?
I’m really dissapointed Chris’ jumping shotgun is an angled shotgun, it would have been sick if it went across the screen. Although perhaps it would have been too good…
They seem really focused on not giving Chris a lot of AA power.
Hey check this clip out, shows some of chris’s one on one abilities. Not a bad watch at all, and also it seems darkdream was correct cause chris seems to build a lot of meter.

I never saw the regular pistol shot in the air at 0:57 before, at least I don’t remember it. Is that an actual projectile, and is that a command normal or regular normal?
I have no idea, and there really isn’t any way of knowing cause it might be a command normal that does chip or something.
I think DarkDream is right on the money with having Chris on point. With his high stamina and strong keep away game, I think he’ll make one of the best batteries in the game with the right AA assist. I think he’d go well in a team that goes something like battery (Chris)/ meter dump (Phoenix?) / AA assist and strong rush down for clutch x factor comeback (Morrigan).
His hypers don’t seem all that useful either, which only further reinforces his point/ battery role. The grenade hyper is interesting though…I wonder if you could DHC out just as Chris fires the second upward shot into something like Wolverine’s speed up. The incoming homing grenade might enable a free mix up. With the right assist it could even set up an easy unblockable, though ofcourse in that case you’d have to sacrifice your AA assist, and that’s a nono.
Out of all the characters Chris interests me the most. It’s not that I’m dead set on learning the character, but out of everyone he has the most unique tools, at least imo, and he’s by far the hardest to figure out by looking at him. I can’t wait to see how he develops and what people can do with him, he’s either going to turn into a monster or get eaten alive.

@ 1:40. The magnum does insane damage in x-factor, and that was only a level 2 x-factor!
lol I had to rewind just to make sure my eyes weren’t deceiving me, thats some crazy damage, but it seems like itll have a pretty decent start up so it wont be spammable. Oh and I think I finally have a good idea of my team, it’ll be chris on point and dante on jam session, its not captain commando but it should prove to be a good AA assist. Then depending on whether or not chris will need a get off me assist i might have to switch dantes assist to ice or something else and then use morrigan or some one on dragon punch assist.
hey can someone try this chris combo out the next chance you get? the combo goes like this, dash c.a c.b s.c forward c(stun rod) shotgun(they should stagger) dash s.b s.c stun rod magnum(if they go too far call ryus hadouken assist before the magnum shot so it can hit them after the wall bounce) dash s.b s.c stun rod e super jump b b c e land call wesker assist(samurai edge, otg that pops foe up) s.c s.c stun rod(if possible use shotgun right here and…) all or nothin hyper. that should do a shitload of damage! >:)
cant combo shotgun from stun rod.
Can you combo shotgun from anything?
Also came to this thread for Chris’s movelist, however the combo in the initial thread doesn’t work from what I’m testing.
DF+C then E does not work. The only way you can continue an OTG from DF+C low shot is with an assist. He has to return to neutral state before you can relaunch with E, which takes some time.
