During startup you can hold L, M, or H and the crosshair will start either next to, a medium distance away, or a long distance away from Chris.

This REALLY needs to be added to the 1st post. I’ve been telling people since before the game came out, but word travels slow and sooo many people still don’t know.

Nice video. I was pulling off that very same bread-and-butter-into-THC combo at a tournament yesterday. You can even add an X-Factor activation before launching them again during the bread-and-butter to ensure that characters like Sentinel and Hulk die in a single combo.

You should also demonstrate in that video that activating THC after down+H can be followed-up after a ground or air throw. This does roughly 500,00 to 700,00 depending on your squad and whether it’s a level 2 or 3.

I told myself the very same thing at the tournament yesterday. That would be amazing.

wonder if its worth sacrificing mines/gunfire… i already run chris on point anyway

Thanks for the vid. I started using C.Viper/Chris yesterday since people were complaining about Wesker. Didn’t know about those magnum follow-ups.

I like chris too much to drop him. If they do balance patches he could use some faster startup on projectiles .

The only thing ill ask for for chris, is the ability to juggle into his damn grenade launcher. Do you know how much damage he would get off if he could juggle into that? Got hit by a full screen magnum? Grenade launcher. Got his by a mine? Grenade launcher. Got hit by a flamethrower? Grenade launcher. Other than that I actually think he is pretty good, his projectiles all have horrid start up, but they beat pretty much everything. Maybe a ground to air shot or something, but other than that can’t really complain.

Oh and making his mines not explode after he gets hit, but I think this would be a little cheap.

Were there any chris on Winter Brawl?

There was one, can’t remember his name but he won his first game and then got blown up by EMP remix. He was decent, didn’t use enough mines imo and magneto got in real easy on him. He was running sent and zero as his back ups.

No its not, how ofter would you get a throw with Chris? Plus, how often would you have ONE bar of hyper with Chris? If you have more, then Grenade Launcher THC is a better follow-up after :d:+:h:/:f:+:m:.

And that’s exacly why he can’t do it normally :lol: (plus there are nasty follow-ups after it). Actually I’ve managed to juggle into it twice. It isn’t really usefull in combat (at least not yet), but I gonna tell you anyway. First is a corner juggle with Grenade Launcher after Wesker’s Jaguar Kick relaunch (seems to be character specific). The second (upward) grenade actually has a hitbox on the way up, and Jaguar Kick puts them high enough for it to connect on the way up. The downside is obvious, the messed up grenade detonation order will prevent the follow-up.

The second way is using the :m: grenade. I actually did this during arcade play once, didn’t really tried doing this in the tutorial, who knows, it might actually be useful. Basically you throw the grenade and then use the Grenade Launcher. The grenade expoded in the gap between the first and second grenades (or maybe it was just after the freeze grenade) and the rest juggled properly. Not sure if there are relaunch combos like these, but they will require assists for sure.

By the way, wanna update the video thread with my last vid? I know the quality sucks, but that’s the best I can do. I think we also need to contact Diek to update the OP with Satellite Laser tips, I might do it later today.

There were times I wished truehood would hit confirm into something more damaging or positional with Chris instead of c.L, c.M, s.H, f+H xx Land Mine xx Sweep Combo, but other than that he seemed solid.

Grenade toss/Peekaboo/depends on who I’m facing. I play a really “trap” heavy type of style.

I usually switch from Hidden missiles and rocks based on match up, and I was never on stream unfortunately. :frowning:

anyone have any idea how to get more than 2 magnums reliably on full screen magnum hit on assist?

right now, i just do

ground magnum>super jump>air magnum

i just do super jump neutral, but if i do super jump forward sometimes i am in range for another shot, but it’s really unreliable for some reason…

@Carpark: Sure ill update the thread, didn’t think anyone was using it so I kinda stopped bothering with it. But I guess its my duty.

On the subject of grenade launcher - if you play with Magneto you can actually DHC in to it from magnetic shockwave (midscreen) and it will juggle properly. Freeze grenade hits during waves, waves still hit during up shot, and the last 2 OTG. Does pretty decent damage and makes Mag one of the few characters that actually DHCs well with Chris from any position (in corner you can do tempest xx sweep combo).
