Bought a usb card with VIA chipset - PS3 TE still doesnt work

this is the card i bought for my PC. as you can see it has a VIA chipset that should be compatible with the R1/R2 madcatz PS3 pcbs.

http://www.via-labs.com/en/products/vl800/index.jsp

the manufacturer’s product page for the vl800 chip, essentially the same card. says it supports both usb 2.0 and 1.1. i also tested with my hori stick and it works, so the device isnt doa or anything.

Its strange, up to yesterday my R1 PS3 stick was running fine with what ever USB controller my Mobo is using. Patched to Win8.1 and now it wont run.
Can anyone answer if this card would work: http://www.logilink.eu/showproduct/PC0057.htm?seticlanguage=en ?

I used to get it to work by having a USB 2.0 extention cord pluged into a USB 3.0 port, but now Im fucked and cant stand having constant troubles.

Edit: Installed a patched version of USB drivers for Mobo… And now it fucking works. I dont get it but Im happy

Mobo USB drivers is what changed. Older USB Drivers was probability missing the UCHI protocols the Mad Catz PSe Round 1 TE uses
