sigh well after 8 months at this… I really cant see any improvement in my game and can see better players half my time get way better. I think you need a innate ability to get good at this, and theres a natural glass ceiling in my game play as well as getting very frustrated that no matter what I do I get parried for everything then jackhammered across the room. Ok you know what I dont enjoy this game anymore… so I am gonna just quit while I am ahead… thanks for the help guys, but I think that anything short of paid help or a brain transplant… I aint gonna get better at this… best to accept this and move on to other stuff… have fun guys…
no offense, but throwing in the towel after 3 weeks is weaksauce. you don’t need innate ability or anything besides common sense and practice. everything is laid out for you. combos and basic strategies are in this section. general advice is in this thread. videos of the best akumas on the planet are on youtube. just plug their names into the search bar and hit enter, and you’re seeing what 13 years worth of top akuma looks like. if that doesn’t give you a sense of direction, i don’t know what can. hell, OE has a built-in youtube uploader. upload some replays and we can tell you exactly what you’re doing wrong. getting good at these games has never been easier than it is now.
The leniency of these new games is really starting to make new players lazy in terms of getting better, which is really disappointing.
actually I’ve been playing since it came out on xbox 360 in october… been using stick since late march… its just frustrating to see newer players will less experience excell to greater lengths with their akumas over my one… like this one guy been playing his ken for 3 months and … I cou;ldnt touch him… his parrying was imaculate… he counters pitch perfect, like he was a proverbial ubermench… the only way I could believe such ability could exsist in such a short space of time was through fighting him… cant say it did wonders for my confidence on my akuma… how do they learn so quickly and so well while my akuma is left in the dust… if I could work out how to transfer my vid to here I would (tried to transfer to a youtube account no dice, could try that server thing if I work out how to do it). the thing is guys if I saw my akuma was progressing I WOULD put the time into it… I HAVE already… put the time into it. I have looked at akuma vids, looked at guides, ect, but everytime when I put it into practise even when I did practise on training, but in game its WHIFF WHIFF WHIFF WHIFF WHIFF!!.. it just… it kind of feels like a innate barrier I cant cross this glass ceiling I just cant pass through in order to get to the higher strata of ability… u know… thats whats frustrating… if there was a certain way, a definate way my akuma could get better other than just the typical “just practise”… then hell I would defo put the time into it… I am sorry guys, I know I am just being a whining little sod… (one of the reasons why i am thinking f**k it just call it as I dont wana be such a whinny little B*TCH…) but to get good at this game “just practise” IS NOT enough…
“Practice” was all I needed to start winning…
However it’s your decision
i find it hard to believe that you couldn’t touch a person who’s been playing for 3 months.
not everybody learns the same way or at the same rate. some people progress best through practice, others can benefit a lot from theoretical understanding of the game, although using both is ideal. the xbox youtube channel has some recent uploads, so it looks like it’s working. after you’re done a match, save it to your “saved replays” folder. then just go to that folder and follow the instructions. it should be even easier on xbox since you don’t have to provide your own channel details.
yeah upload some replays, change the name so they’re tagged with your name so they’re easy to find
ok found it … prepare for the zomg facepalms
second one these two are three weeks old just got a few recent matches this moment to show u my current skill… which I am gonna upload now… lord help me… ( hate it when they taunt… yea i know I taunt back when I am doing well but just hate how people get so… high on themselves… gotta learn to not let it get to me…
You’re not gonna kill the oponent by jumping around and throwing fireballs bro. Block more, stop doing unsafe shit, especially like lk tatsu
the KKZ in the second vid is WAT. Learn what should hit and what shouldnt. also did you pick your worst games or do you naturally loose in less than a minute?
if you really don’t want to block at all and just want to do moves then I reccomend switching your character
here my first match I did today… I got pretty lucky with a few lands, but watch and see if u notice where I whiff… (including a typically missed zankuu… how the hell could I miss that >.>.
yea that kkz was out of habit more than anything no one is more perplexed to why I did that more than me tbh… I do try and block more… but sometimes get so overwhelmed I cant block fast enough… well heres the second vid and here is where I start to take a beating…

heres one where I accidently ashura senku… dont know why the fuck I did that think its when i try to counter into a c.mk > lk.tatsu > hp shoryuken… I accidently hit both the buttons together… durp ( did that in the previous vid too)
heres another where I ashura senku accidently ( again sigh need to watch how I press buttons on stick…) try to reversal teleport too out of his ageis but doesnt come out… woo hooo… I know I taunt second round but the f**ker again keeps taunting… again… … sigh can u see why I really want to quit now? ( oh yea also whiff B&B… )

and to top it off one of the previous ken members here decides to pick akuma just to prove how bad I am… and yea u dont need to watch to know the results… are you REALLY sure you guys can help/ want to help me improve??..

k heres one against a oro player… now admittedly I went into this one expecting to lose, but to be fair that oro player was alittle green so I got lucky…
I got a few demon throws in there too BUT… I cant shake the feeling a better oro could have countered those… I might post a few more after lunch…
oh yea tried to do a c.lk,c.lp,c.lk > gouhadou but yea * in the tone of that toasy guy in mk* WHIFFY!!! ¬_____¬
Man, you’re not going to kill them if you’re on the other side of the screen ya know, stp backing up so much. Now im gonna give a horrible advice when it comes to pro playing, but it will definetely level up you that much. instead of lk tatsu use Hk tatsu it hits some crouchers that lk tatsu doesnt hit and its a lot more safe on block. use only the lk if you know its gonna definetely hit (punish)
Learn to hitconfirm SA1, because you dont even use that super. I don’t know if you know how to combo the KKZ after the lp reset but for demon you certainly need to a lot of training, which you dont have so start using that meter. You can hitconfirm SA1 by c.lk c.lp c.lk , c.lk c.lk , close mk link into SA1 (which is easy as fuck) and if you’ve got good reactions c.mk.
yea problem is I find if I go to them… I get punished…
