this ep wasnt as funny as i had hoped but rather it was something i could relate to. i’ve had another family stay at my house for about 3 months until they got back on their feet and it was really close to how the episode turned out (except they didnt experience a hurrican, they just moved to the US from philippines). they kept saying how they’d pay my parents back but never did.
I think this ep has hit home with a lot of people. It’s gonna happen in which there will be eps that will do that, and it won’t be about humor…it’ll be about relating to the characters.
Maybe some of you with experience can share some of your stories?

I’ve noticed something. And I’m sure quite a few other people have.
Whenever someone says “I’m going to pay back every penny”, they are going to stiff you.
Yes… there has to be some connection. Every time my alcoholic uncle borrows cash from my mom, he uses the term “borrow.” Either that, or “hold.” Something that implies a pay back. Unc ain’t paid back shit, because he never had any fucking money. My mom, on the other hand, says “let me get ___” or another “I’m keeping this” phrase when borrowing from me or someone else, and always pays back.
The latest ep. was cool, not as funny as the last ones, but did bring up a topic.
I’m not gonna put all my business out there, but I was the family that needed a hand and my relatives acted like stuck up assholes about it. My story was more like Grave of the Fireflies (not nearly as tragic, nobody died… my family actually recovered) than this story… everybody that should have helped out, didn’t… an unnecessarily humiliating experience… the aftermath was a permanent rift between us and my relatives…
It’s all in the wording. If you hear “every penny” and they look you in your eyes without blinking, get that money back RIGHT THEN.

I like this latest ep. Like everyone is saying wasn’t so funny but it was entertaining and i’m glad that it took a hard line on uncouth behavior from relatives that are house guests.
I hate to say it… but really some niggas keep waiting on cash to fall from the sky all there life. and that’s a damn shame because even if it ever happens it won’t be long till they are back in the same shithole they dug there selves into.
As for katrina victims… It’s fucked up that they lost volumes of personal belongings, homes, and lives. It’s fucked up that the greater american government really wouldn’t have helped them at all if they werent under scrutiny for it. What’s even more fucked up is I bet the properties damaged by the california wild fires will be restored way quicker than New Orleans will be restored.
I’m glad this episode happened. Tragedy stricken people arent excused from Etiquette. If they were house guest that whole house should have been spotless kids should have been well behaved and orderly. Making the most out of a very unfortunate situation. Good episode.
