Boondocks Season 3

i dont blame robert at all it is his house

Hell yeah. I just stopped laughing off that.

Yeah. HOW can you blame him? When I saw his house, I SHUDDERED.

Ruckus got that ass whooped

waitaminute…did you just call me a woman?!

… Alrite that ep wasn’t that funny for me… only because it hit home like a bullseye (not Katrina refugee thing, but trifling scam artist relatives)

Beneath all the show’s kung fu and jokes is uncut realness…

This is how you bounce back after “Ballin.” Ced, Weezy, and a FEMA check. Knew the show wouldn’t slip for long. And everybody can relate to this. You know you had fam at your house and you wanted them to get the fuck gone. And where do we put Jericho in the Tier List since he whooped Rukus?

FEMA Check

[details=Spoiler] “Why don’t they take they homeless asses home?”- Riley

“You know what really hurt, losing all that mattress money! I had about 4, 5 accounts in there. My retirement, 401K, and the money for the record label I was starting in the basement.” -Jericho

Niggaz and the Spanish language. “Yo Quiero Taco Bell!”

“Boy, y’all lucky we kin cuz if I was a different kind of nigga, I woulda left outta here with everything!!”-Weezy[/details]

werd.

Truth. This wasn’t that funny to me either, besides certain parts and the end joke.

I don’t have too many scam artist relatives, but I’ve seen too much of the “relation/friendship is the only reason to bother” angle in life and on TV to not feel the realness here.

Lolz, nah. Just speakin from personal experiences. And I was wrong because sure enough, the ep premiered. I guess everything isn’t black and white :rofl::rofl:

I think too much.

Unfortunately, I can say I know a few relatives that are similar. It’s funny but it did hit home in alot of ways. That’s what I like about Boondocks, although certain things are exaggerated–in sensibility its pretty close to home.

I’m happy that this season wasn’t entirely about Naked Grandad this and Ignorant Riley that and went back to its S1 roots in a way by sending a message while being humorous a little bit. And by little bit I mean everything funny that didn’t involve Ruckus because he is his own tier

Not that this season has been slippin’, but it’s been kind of linear IMO with all the fighting and the humor direction.

And why is Huey quiet as hell nowadays? Is this some sort of silent protest (`scuse the pun) from Regina King? IIRC she only wanted to voice Riley but McGruder convinced her to do Huey as well…

…I hope his silence leads to Caeser’s debut THIS season

“…and then there was that summer I dated Jim Brown…”

yeah…more than a few of my relatives are like that. i wish chappelle was still on so there could be another show putting niggas on blast.

Holy

Shit

They must have researched my brother because Weezy acts EXACTLY like him and that whole fema check scam is something that he would do. If he ever started a family (god forbid) they would be just like that one. Bleh.

Oh btw, Ruckus threw that fight with Jericho so he could get the fucker arrested. No way a master of nunchuku is gonna go down to some Katrinian

Ruckus is the fruth.

Yeah this show wasn’t as funny as some of you have already said but it brought the realness that I’ve been waiting on. Huey is a rather interesting character. He doesn’t really get that many lines in an episode but his presence speaks volumes.

ruckus is too funny

hey there darkies! i heard there was some katrinians so i brought out my old violin that only plays sad songs.

Damn The Boondocks is puttin’ all our shit on blast. I’m actually surprised Lil’ Weeziana would do something that hit so close his hometown especially something not depicting their situation in the best of light.

QFT.

Easy. If you haven’t noticed lately, Boondocks has been embraced by the black community because it doesn’t shy away from talking about shinin and greed, bootlegging media, trifling family members, corporate greed, ignorance, laziness, disrespect, being uppity, unhealthy eating, crazy kung fu bitches (crazy bitches), etc.

So because so much honest to goodness realness is brought to the table black folks from all walks of life can’t be like “This is just too offensive” because it’s so true to life. Wayne can’t be offended by this because I know for fucking sure he’s ran into lazy niggas in New Orleans. They city falls apart and crime goes up? That’s how niggas gonna respond? People don’t need to be shying away from the truth. Remember how awesome the Martin Luther King Jr. episode was?

And another great thing about the Boondocks is that while it’s very black community centric (?) it hits rather broadly. It’s not as biting as South Park or Family Guy. Those cartoon sitcoms drill the knife in much harder. They really mock the hell out of different groups of people. Boondocks is a better show because it came from a long running politically incorrect comic strip, where a solid and thought provoking punch line was delivered within three panels.

I want a Huey action figure now.
