Yeah, I know. There’s an Idaho thread already. I’m sure it’s full of great information, but it’s 60 pages long. So instead of posting in there and risk getting lost in the shuffle, I thought I’d make a topic here.
I’m new (relatively - played about 3 months) to SSF4. I just bought my first stick (Madcatz TE) and I’m looking to play some peeps locally. Is there a good scene in Boise? How do I become a part of it? All of this is new to me, but I’d love to improve and the only good way to do that is to play in person with good players.
Feel free to tell me whatever I need to know (tournaments, casuals, whatever).
The Idaho thread pretty much IS the Boise thread. All Casuals usually take place in Boise. We just had an awesome gathering on Saturday at Toodle’s place with about 18 people. You could just post an introduction in that thread and get all the information you need without having to shuffle through all the information.
Welcome to the scene Oceans Lament. The scene in Boise is relatively small compared to bigger cities like Seattle and Portland, but our scene is growing. I believe the Idaho scene has 20-30 some odd people that play on a semi regular basis. We tend to get together for casuals on a weekly basis. Tournaments don’t happen too often in Boise but I believe that will change in the future. Sense the scene has been growing lately and AE 2012 and UMVC3 are coming out I can see Boise starting up ranbats again. To stay a part of the scene all you need to do is show up.
If you want to get some games in this week and meet some of the players let me know and I can set something up.
Yo I’m new to the scene too- I actually just moved to Boise about 6 months ago and have been to a few casuals. So far it’s been a blast- everyone is cool (except for a certain Cowboys fan) and puts up with my mediocrity at AE. Are you on PSN? If so what’s your gamertag- I’m DahcDerron. Hit me up and we’ll get some matches in.
Also, as Dragoomba said, just post an introduction on the Idaho thread and jump right in- that’s what I did.
