Blur is crack. Split/Second is cheap

I’m a little tired of the demolition derby that is the beginning of every race in blur. I love the weapon combat element but at the beginning it’s just one gigantic mess. While I’m trying to driver properly there are guys who turn by smashing their car into the wall laterally instead of actually turning. Frustrating early game.

I’m trying to learn my way around that. I’ve actually been avoiding the mess pretty well. It’s almost like you have to sneak by people or hang just behind ‘the mess’ and then let them shoot each other up, trying to keep a low profile. But yeah, 10 person racers are probably the best in the game. Thought 20 in team race to me is pretty fun since with that many people vying for a better position for last, every man counts.

I refuse to play 20 person racers, unfortunately, I share an account with a friend and when he plays he loves the 20 person races, so when we swap turns racing it’s a constant play one race in a lobby and then leave and wait in another lobby to have one race there.

I swear , that bastard is just gonna have to wait for me to finish … in about 5 hours.

I’m still enjoying Split Second, and you do get used to the AI after a while. You just need to accept that they will overtake you again and again, you just need to make sure you still have power left midway through the 3rd lap in order to take them out when they inevitably overtake you.

The Detonator events can be a real bitch. Forget crashing, if you want to get 1st place in Detonator events, you literally can’t even nudge a wall. You literally have to race a perfect lap at full throttle, which is not easy considering you need to avoid obstacles/explosions, and know which turns you can’t and must drift around.

IGN UK made up for that horrible IGN US score, by giving Blur a 9/10.

wow 9 across the board

I’d agree that if you get ahead of the pack it’s much easier on certain tracks to stay in front. The only counter to this is the lighting bolt

The lightning bolt isn’t even that good of a 1st place counter, it’s pretty easy to swerve through if your the only one around, of course once you get a pack going through them, someone is getting bumped, pushed, shunted, bolted and barged into them.

I wasn’t saying it was good just it’s the only way unless you are second and constantly sending bolts foward. But you are right lighting bolt is easy to dodge it comes in real handy when you are in first place.

Unless you get shunted/bolted into them. Pack a shield with that 1st place lead at all times if possible.

Looked at blur and seems fun. Saw that they had the Ford GT, Koenigsegg CCX, Audi TT and R8 (I like everything about the design of this car except for the little dots under the headlights), Aston Martin, and Nissan GTR. I wish there were some Italian cars like Masaratti or Alfa Romeo. Farri and Lambo are cool but you see that ALL the time.

Wow I’m actually disappointed, I assumed Blur would have the same catalogue of cars as PGR4

How does one drift properly in Blur? Every time I try I love mad speed and often lose control.

 Considering Mario Kart has been shit for years, it’s perfectly “cool.” Get over yourself Nintendo fanboy; Blur does the Mario Kart formula better, with no rubberbanding and strategy behind the weaponry. Miyamoto wishes he could make a fun Mario Kart that was also strategically sound (well actually, I’m sure he doesn’t, which is part of the problem).

Dr. B’s fatality involves shit that makes Sephiroth’s Supernova look like a schoolgirl’s jab.

Each car handles differently, I tend to avoid driving cars that have grip rating less than 3 bars, 4/5 suits my driving style perfectly. I hit the brake easy off the accelerator as I approach the corner, then I hit the air brake as I turn. Adjusting the direction the car points so I don’t over shoot and spin myself out, short bursts of the accelerator can also help control the car

Any tips on staying above 120mph on a single lap for the last single player block of levels?

Okay. I’ll have to practice: I have to unlearn the Mario Kart-isms I’ve picked up over the years. Thanks for the advice!

Harry Potter couldn’t kill Dr. B. Harry Potter could barely beat Voldemort with help. What’s he gonna do when every one he loves is sexually attracted to Dr. B, including himself?

With lower barred ones you will get a lot of over steer but if you have those green boosts then you can just back boost to take re-control of where you are going and continue at a fast speed. Otherwise there will be some heavy braking.

Dr. B drifts around the sun to go back in time. What? That’s what Superman does? That plagiarizing bitch!

Need a S/S vs Blur

Borrowing split second from a friend * got him a discount * and just beat it right now. Man this game is Epic as fuck. hella fun and addicting. The ending gives a glimpse of things to come and i can’t wait. Worth every one of my friends pennies lol.

Ill get it myself eventually…i can just imagine this game in the arcade with 8 cabinets connected together for a 8 player race. fucking INTENSE.

One of few times im actually sad a game doesn’t have LAN multiplayer :(.

Thats pretty funny.

I played a bit of split second and it is pretty fun. I think I enjoy Blur a little more butthe drifting in s/s makes the game crazy cool
