For those who have bluetooth mics have you figured out how to get the voice chat function going. I join rooms with voice chat enabled but cant hear anyone and they cant hear me, if anyone can help with a solution I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.
First off, we’ll assume you’ve already paired your headset with your PS3. If not, google the term and do it.
Then, turn your headset on.
Second, on the XMB before you launch the game, go to Settings, then Accessory settings. From there, go to Audio Device Settings and choose 'Wireless Headset" under “Input Device”. You can test to see if you’re mic is working right there by talking: there’s a level bar right on the screen.
From there, you don’t need to do anything. Launch the game, and there you go. On your lobby card is a little speaker icon that shows when you’re talking; the same thing appears in game next to your name. I tried it out as I was writing this and encountered no problems.
The issue you’re probably running into is that, quite frankly, most people don’t have a headset for the PS3. Even games with voice chat enabled are going to be pretty devoid of conversation. I started a six person friendly room and played for six games: only one other person with a mic showed up.
