Bloody Roar

Ok Guys Here are some questionable Rules for the Tourny:

Btw this could be a BR3/4 Tourny Such as two Tournaments

No Boss Characters, Such as Ryoko(The Dragon From BR4) I need help on BR3 for its Boss Characters

No Career Mode Characters Are Allowed

No Modded Sticks or Controllers (Sorta a House Rule for the place)

Double Elimination

Best 2 of 3, Finals 3 of 5

Matches out of 3 Sets instead of 2

Time Limit is set to 60sec

Stage/Character Choice:

Both Players will Choose 1 Character at the first match, Winner Stays same character, Loser may change

Stages aren’t picked yet since I haven’t gotten my game in the mail. I think its like Stage 1,2, 5, 6,7 and 10 are the big stages, Basically no small stages that any characters can cheaply use Specials off the Walls so close, Such as Urikos.

That is pretty much what I got, If any idea come to mind help out, Thanks Its going to be a small Tournament but I want it to be a good one to maybe even hold another one in the near future with friends around me or even out-of-county/state people who are some what interested. Well Guys Help Out ^^

Trust me, keep the small levels on. If you make the large levels only you are gonna have a lot of problems with Nagi and Reiji being over powered.

The damage scaling on this game is horrible hahah…but here are some matches that I assume are high level. One of the matches with Gado and Shina was outrageous. Gado Infinite is stupid. I can see a few reasons why the series is always getting the shitty stick with the fg community. But I still say it could be competitive to a certain degree. I saw a lil bit of mindgames during the mirror Shenlong match which surprised me 0.0 because I thought this game was a button masher back in the day. Well, from what I’e seen after research so far is a very good Gado could kill you in 3 combos lol. Also someone needs to tier the series. Maybe the next time I get on I will.

Bloody Roar needs a scene. It’s actually entertaining to watch at the least. On a side note, I wonder what happened to that troll that would always come to fg discussion about Bloody Roar claiming it was like the best fighter ever, and got negged to the lowest hells for it. rofl

Those videos are of BR4 right??

nope br3. 4 is suppose to be the worst. I guess:lame:

IMO its 2>4>3. My friends and i played 2 till 4 came since 3 was way to slow.

Bloody Roar 4 Tiers IMO

God Tier: Uranus , Reiji, Nagi, Ryoho and Mana, Ryoho the dragon (This tier could be further divided but, they are all too damn good so w/e. I honestly think Reiji and Nagi are better then Uranus.)

Top Tier: Yugo, Shina, Xion, Uriko

High Tier: Shenlong, Long, Stun, Kohryu (Shenlong could be in top tier and Stun could be lower or higher. Both are debatable IMO. Not too sure on Kohryu, but it felt like a good place to put him.)

Mid Tier: Alice, Bakaryu, Jenny

Bottom: Gado (He sucks ass. Slow, and predictable. Very little mix-ups.)

I don’t know much about the two versions of Ryoho, but i have heard good thingd about him so I put them up there. Uranus is obvious. Reiji and Nagi are just ridiculous. Reiji with his great mix-ups, good speed, reach, very safe kick chains, and insane Magneto-esq aerial raves. Nagi is nuts , but you don’t have to dig as deep to see her faggotry. She has what I think is the fastest safest poke in the game. Her guard attack is a lighting fast front kick. She has great speed, great juggles, and a solid mix-up game. She is very safe and has good mix-up/mindgame potential in her command run. Her command throw can be comboed afterwards. With that she can do some great juggles for big damage that is garuanteed. But if you’re lazy she can just do a beast drive after her command throw or her beast command throw for big damage as well. Reiji can also go into his aerial raves after using his command throw. He just has to use a move that launches or can combo into his air combos. That’s what BR is all about IMO. Solid, reliable ways to net big damage combined with good speed and mix-ups. But comboability is the biggest factor in this series. You have to be able to land those super damaging combos. Reiji and Nagi can do that with ease. They can also auto dodge, and they have other tricks up thier sleeves. Nagi’s beast drive when activated will chase down her oppenent and if they block she will immediately do an unblockable slash. Reiji can charge one of his beast drives to be unblockable. Nagi has a second guard command attack that she can charge up to be unblockable. Nagi has a command run attack that she can use to slide kick her opponent and then attack or grab. Very good mix-up potential and great for tick throws. Reiji can fly in the air indefinately by dashing back in forth in the air or side-stepping while in Crow form. With this he could nail one huge combo and then let the time run out.

Reiji and Nagi can do sooooooooooooo much. I really think they are = to Uranus. If not better.

Well I must agree. These videos are interesting, especially since these guys definitely know how to play. Stuff like whats techable and not has always plagued my mind, due to the lack of a decent training mode or nor at all in the older versions, but watching these videos they make it somewhat more clear.

Troll eh? I can’t remember if this guy was trolling the game, but if I was to posed the question of who would be the mascot for this game here in SRK, it would have to be Bloody. I always found it kinda hilarious that he liked this game.

Ahhh I see. I thought the videos were of 4 because I never knew that there were two Bloody Roar games for the PS2, and I thought 2 was 3 this entire time.

Anyway…sweet videos and hella thanks for posting them. I never seen any match videos for this game, nor to this level of expertise.

I agree on the Reiji and Nagi = Uranus but put Jenny at high, Stun in bottem, Kohryu in mid and switch shen with yugo.

I think Yugo is good enough to be in top. He was pretty much number 1 in BR3 besides Uranus. He has been nerfed in 4 though.

Stun is good with his throw mix-ups and cancels just really slow. Kohryu is just a revamped Bakaryu so I don’t really care if he is in mid or not.

Jenny? Eh, she has good combos and has some decent chains I guess, but could someone please explain her BR4 game in-depth to me?

I definitely don’t think Shen is better then Yugo. No way. Yugo’s mix-up potential is still beastly and he still has some good combos and good juggles.

Yugo is a beast there is no doubt about that but in BR4 i still think shen is a bit better same goes for BR: PF. If i can find something to record with il try to make a small jenny tutorial BR2 or BR4/PF.

Yugo is faster and has better combos and set-ups. And his rush-down along with his pressure game is still great.

Shen is good. Just not better then Yugo. Even if Shen went up, I can’t see what reason there is that Yugo shouldn’t be where he is.

Shen has slightly less damage dealing combos but makes up with knock back and has just as good set ups as marvel(which you put high). Shen all so has good pressure play but isn’t as fast yugo which isn’t bad in his case becuase his moves don’t have long delays if they miss, while yugo’s major damage moves leave em pretty open now. But i noticed you forgot to add Busuzima what are your thoughts about him? I feel he should be high tier as he was in BR3 IIRC.

High or mid is fine by me for Busuzima.

And Shina has awesome set-ups and she is safer then Shen, I think. Yugo is safer too. Shen has a solid command throw though. He can be tops but Yugo is tops too imo.

Shenlong is a really good character and has some crazy stuff in BR:PF. He can actually beast burst right into his Nose poke super. I actually had a decent amount of competition for BR:PF over the last couple of months. I believe Primal Fury and Extreme are the best bloody roar games but I people don’t really seem to agree much. Personally I think Yugo is still overall better than Shenlong in PF and probably in 4 too (cannot really remember how good Shenlong was in 4).

EmblemLord, I think you would be surprised how safe some of Shenlong shit can be. I could never play as him myself cause I couldn’t keep myself safe for anything as him but I have played someone who plays Shenlong that I could barely touch in certain matches. Shenlong seems to be a character you really need to know how to play before being able to judge him, I cannot play of him so I don’t know how much mistiming the attacks that are only safe in certain situations are so he might not be as good overall as he seems. But the fact that I have been pretty much perfected by a Shenlong should mean that he has some pretty safe stuff.

PF = 4 exept for some minor frame changes and big ass nerfs. But i prefer 4 since Nagi is one of my mains and most of BR2 Jenny stuff work on BR4 and not so much in PF. Got some good news and some bad news i could get some BR action on tape today BUT it would be recorded with a webcam.

4 is similar to PF in terms of how the characters moves are but it is actually quite different overall because of the new beast bar. The aerial stuff is much different from PF to 4 from what I have played of it. From what I have seen 4 was more buffs than nerfs, and they introduced some broken ass characters. Seriously Nagi, Reiji, and Uranus (why the fuck is she buffed so much). 4 seems almost broken compared to PF/Ex. Seriously every time I play 4 I feel like I’m playing a beta of PF with some lousy scrapped characters.

On nerfs im speaking of from BR3 to 4 since Gado, Buzu, Alice(not much), yugo(not on his primary stuff) became worse from the top of my head. I heard that long got worse to but i never played him in BR3 so i can’t confirm that. But on buffs i got nothing to complain about exept that nagi is a bit imba. But i don’t really see why Reiji is so broken. I might not have spend much time on him but if never had a hard time facing a reniji player since he can can be a open book from time to time.

Reiji is god in that game. Nagi is a goddess.

That’s all you need to know about BR4.

Although it’s stupidly abvious that Hudson was trying to make them borken. The stuff they have is so retarded and so easy to see. Thier brokeness is just right there out in the open. No glitches, just straight overpowered bullshit.

I saw other vids of goodplay some year ago. But I didn’t really care for it competition wise. But now I want to see it flourish.
