BLOODSTAINED: RITUAL OF THE NIGHT aka the Spiritual successor of Symphony of the Night

Is it really THAT big?

That it dwarfs SotN?

I might have to back it, if so.

To go further, how much does ANY finished product resemble its concept art?

Just a reminder…

The english VA for Alucard is part of this project. I kinda forgot about this myself. Anyway…

#Hype

(Oh gods. Are you guys still arguing with Moonchilde instead of just ignoring him? He’s obviously not going to be swayed and this at point is typing just to type.)

Huh. I wasn’t aware that Alucard’s English VA was on board or that any VAs were to be honest given how relatively early on things are in this game’s development. I’d laugh if said VA was revealed to be the voice for whatever Dracula-equivalent may pop in this game, though I suppose it’s far likelier that he’ll voice the flowery Alucard-looking player character whom I can’t remember the name of at present.

Robert Belgrade? Deep black-man-voice-but-is-really-a-white-guy Alucard VA? If so, awesome!

And you saw the bit about how in the very same game that we have a back dash in we can run with another character? I guess Richter can’t run in SotN, you know that same exact game that people spam back dash in as Alucard?Try again. The point that a game can still have a specific Iga style while trying something new went completely over your head, instead you got defensive and went off on a tangent that isn’t even relevant to what you wrote earlier. You also seem to have missed how I sunk thousands of hours into the game, and that back dashing to get around faster than normal walking or, by some miracle being allowed to double tap to you know, fucking run, isn’t fucking appealing in a “new” game. It’s not that one game is doing something better than the other, it’s the fact that I’ve literally, literally put thousands of hours into the game as Alucard doing stuff like sequence breaking and collecting shit and using back dash to get around quicker during that time. What about that doesn’t make sense to you?

Is the back dash a bad mechanic? No. Is having to use it over and over and over to get around fucking tedious? Fuck yes. Get it through your thick skull dude.

I can’t believe the sole argument for the tedious nature of back dashing to get around faster is “it’s an Iga game, what did you expect!” Seriously, his first game has a character than can run and his third a forward dash. I guess those don’t count though. I guess SotN and HoD aren’t Iga games. :expressionless:

I never back dash to get around in his games. I just walk.

It depends on the game I think. Didn’t Aria/Dawn/Portrait have cool downs for back dashing? In those cases, walking was the fastest way to get around until you got late game high speed mobility options. Solely based on SotN, I used it a lot to get from Point A to Point B ASAP if there was a lot of jumping obstacles. A lot of us would also spam wing smash in bat form to get through long hallways or corridors without pillars/obstacles ASAP, too. Wolf charging was pretty good in certain areas such as the upright entrance, library, and marble corridor, but once you found wing smash that was the superior option.

It really depends on how you play and what your intent is. The first few times through an area walking is fine. It’s when you start going for 200+% and item drops that you really need the extra speed to cut down on major time consumption. Factor in playing through the game to completion multiple times you get a been there, done that and simply want to get from A to B again. If you don’t care about that stuff and don’t play the game multiple times over, then chances are you don’t need to get around as fast. The only games I did 100% completion on was SotN and HoD, fwiw.

They sent out a survey a few months back, if you didn’t fill it out or don’t remember, you can login to the kickstarter and fill it out there.

I use Back dash more as a defensive/evasive maneuver to avoid attacks.

The way Alucard walks, he enters every room and hallway like he owns the place.
So why run when you can enter the room like a Boss?

After entering the room like a boss about 500x you just don’t care anymore since you’re going to dup+sire that whole room anyway, lol! Then you gonna back dash through it to pick up yo shit.

I only walk forward when I have my shield out.

I’m a minority in this i am sure, but I just don’t farm in these games. There’s very little point most of the time. Netting 100% tends to be a satisfaction thing with no rewards tied to it, and getting 100% of stuff in these games is fucking boring. Farming enemies for some rare drop that is either going to be a bobble to add to my collection, or some over powered weapon that will make the already easy experience even easier. Like I never farm the Criss. If it drops cool, if not whatever. Tends to be how i treat all these games, I hate farming in them, so I can’t relate needing to back dash out of a room 500 times because I just don’t need to do that.

Just increase your luck, and you’ll get rare drops faster.

@SWBeta Hey, I sent you a PM.

I really hope they can get an “I’m interested in this.”

Someone help me out. Can’t find the demo. Got the key, never had steam, but just installed it…looking for the demo…

EDIT: Never mind, I got it. Not a PC gamer, so sue me. Lmfao!

You need to enter the key to get the demo. Go to Games on the top of the client and select activate product key.

That’s not even that different from getting stuff via a key on consoles.

Good to go. Demo’s great. Used a DS4, can’t wait until it comes out. Getting both Ps4 and Vita physicals.
