BLOODSTAINED: RITUAL OF THE NIGHT aka the Spiritual successor of Symphony of the Night

And now he’s gotten his chance to do a 2D game on console.

Why does this game already have the sickest soundtrack ever ffs

Did we play the same game? They aren’t the same, although there are purposefully made parallels. Both games are vastly different. The characters and story are also vastly different. While MGS2 might have been intended to have a formula similar to MGS, clearly there was enough to separate it from the other to make it feel like a new and fresh experience. Especially since I remember playing both for the first time (MGS2 I played first) and recall both experiences being extremely different from the other.

It’s not 2D.

Is there something difficult to understand about him explaining from the start of his Kickstarter that he intended to make this game this way.

Beyond that it’s clear he had an arc In mind from ooe that was never completed.

How about letting him get though this first game before complaining about a lack of originality since it’s the first he’s been able to do to this scale since symphony.

You misunderstood me. I’m not talking about MGS2. I’m talking Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, the MSX game.

There isn’t, but some people just feel the need to be the party pooper.

I mean, the guy didn’t even pledge because he knew Bloodstained would be a formulaic Iga game. Now, he is complaining because Iga is actually doing what he promised :o

Should Iga please the 65K backers that gave him over 5.5 million dollars or should he please you? Move on dude.

At least one of these Jap devs on Kickstarter keeps their fucking promises…

Fuck Inafune.

Don’t speak so soon, Iga could hire a SJW community manager any second!

Bloodstained’s scale is already beyond symphony. Well it’s still being made, but they don’t have konami rushing them like how SOTN was originally a premature release with a lot of things cut, including things like boss Maria, playable Maria, SOTN costume Richter (which Duck Company made happen for Nocturne in the Moonlight, they even made all 3 characers playable from the start, with the greatest most artistic character select screen in the entire history of videogames!! and they added familiars, a new underground area with new boss, and other things. )

and now I’m even told that the generic blue menu format of SOTN was not even intended to look like that. PS1 SOTN is rushed, ROTN is not. and it took about 3 ports before SOTN had a definitive version (which is exclusive to Dracula X Chronicles, but some argue Nocturne in the Moonlight is better.)

yes they said they are withholding some of the backer content post launch, but the launch game is still going to have a bigger castle than SOTN, a more refined evolution of the genre’s gameplay, taking the strengths of the IGAvanias, and combining them into one masterpiece. plus Miriam possesses some of Shanoa’s qualities, making her potential arsenal even more impressive than any IGAvania protagonist before her.

now if it has a fair abundance of whip weapons, it could have the best of both worlds for classic Castlevania fans and SOTN fans.

the gameplay is already looking more solid and fluid than DXC.

Gameplay-wise, it is.

So, we keep replying to dumbchilde because?

My bad.

(S)He made some valid points the first three times this exact argument came up in the castlevania thread.

It’s archived for everyone’s reading pleasure if you want to watch the full circle of this argument and how it ends every time.

So you like Iga when does the Iga thing you like but not the other Iga thing you like.

As a matter of fact, all this said is that you’d rather he take from the Iga game you like more rather than that other Iga game you also like but not as much. There’s a better version of Iga but Iga would rather do the one he likes, what an asshole. Like damn, Iga is just trying to do Iga in the way he likes best. People complain that companies don’t let them do what they want. So wait 'til Iga gives you the Iga and pray it doesn’t feel so Inafune.

Since my PC is shitty, anyone want for demo Steam key for $5?

I’m probably one of the few that actually liked Lords of Shadows…and I have yet to get my Steam key.

I know I put in the required funds in the Kickstarter.

@AriesWarlock I would like that code please

Really dude? That’s not even close to what’s quoted in the text box. Try again.

No, that’s just where we end up after having to read all the nerd shit reasons why a creator doing things the way he has done before is a point of criticism. This is exactly what you’ve been saying the whole fucking time:

You see this? This is you complaining about backdash because a different Iga game did a forward dash and you liked that better.

Oh noes but the story! Great. I have been playing Metroidvanias all these years for their fucking story.

Never will happen, have you see all the people involved with the PR for Blood Stained?
Alot of the English speaking PR/Promotion team are huge Castlevania fans, also Iga has a better sense of whats going on in the world than Inafune.
