Nightmare FRontier reminds me of this scifi novel I read a as a kid where you are a space explorer that got stuck in another dimension in which there are giant squids in the water and you have to decided whether to run away or fight at the cost of the your limited and non-refillable supplies. I’m looking over this hill, and there’s a lake with nuemrous giant squids and also and giant ape beta looking creature with glowy eyes. scaaaaryyyyy

Re: Evelyn build, you’d think that the long-range rifle/pistol (I forget its name) would complement the Evelyn better? Learn the ranges, and when they get out of Evelyn range, you marrow up a sniper bullet to keep harassing them. Weaker, but still a fun mindgame.

If you’re thinking of Ludwig’s Rifle, it’s just a longer range Blunderbuss, not an actual rifle. Pistol bullet range isn’t really that small that it would justify needing it for that reason.

Oh, derp! Yeah, I was just going off of item descriptions, waxing theoretically.

A long-range, weaker sniper rifle WOULD fit well into the game. Maybe nick one off of those shooty villagers in Yharnam, 'cause their range is crazy.

So, I started NG+.

Yes sir, it is suitably powered-up. Gascoine killed me a couple of times before I took him down, because I forgot his patterns. I also have a bad habit of dodging BACK, which is like the dumbest idea ever against most of the enemies in this game.

Also, I would totally have a certain poison boss killed tonight on my own, if not for one thing:

[details=Spoiler]Bloodstarved Beast’s grab attack got SERIOUSLY upgraded. When I got to BSB in NG, fairly early on, it only almost killed me. Now it destroys me from full health. I’m doing more than enough damage, I’m just too squishy.

Hmph. I would’ve killed it on my first go 'round if I hadn’t been dumb and gone for the slower antidote rather than quick blood vials. But every attempt after that, it’s gotten a grab in (and it’s FAST!) and torn me apart. Oh well, I’ll return once I’ve upped my VIT a bit.[/details]

You can mash out of most grabs by mashing all of the face buttons. I’m not 100% sure but I think BSB’s can be

Aw, dangit. See, I tried mashing at first when I got into the game, but never could get it to work.

Now you got me to google, and it seems like alternating L2 and R2 will get you out of grabs, according to Internets! Or L1 and R1.

I guess that bugger is going down.

Actually that was how it was in the older games, but in this game you mash the face buttons. Well, it might be ALL buttons, but I could never get the shoulder buttons to work but mashing all the face buttons at once worked for me. And again, it doesn’t seem to work vs some grabs, but it does work on Brain Trust(singing brain women things) for example
