Bloodborne thread

For some reason I can’t find Henryk anymore. I guess I waited too long.

Man fuck nightmare frontier and all it’s poison and rock throwing bs. The boss was a chump with the extended cleaver.

Rom was super easy with my Skill build which is something like

Vit22
End16
str 16 (obviously i’m probably gonna start over and axe any points I have in here I was dickriding the axe hard in the beginning now I think It’s poopoo)
Skill 25
Blood 13
Arcane 15
with a +7 Rapier I just poked his side relentlessly and rolled around since rapier uses no stamina practically and tossed moltovs since forbidden forest mobs dropped a lot and the only part where its hard to hit him is in the last phase when hes nearly dead and hes spamming AOE and the spiders are super thick

I started off with cruel Fate I wasn’t aware of how discovery and arcane work together when I picked it but I’m glad I went that route I think High discovery was really helpful early game as the starting area is a really good blood vial farming spot

are you sure the hunter of hunters didn’t kill him when I encountered him I was walking by a close by area and heard the fight and by the time I got there he had the works already put on him you should check the insight shop to see if his sets available to be sure

Before, Eileen was saying to not got there whilst I was exploring other areas. This time, I decided to actually go there but no one was there. I went back to see Eileen and she was gone as well.

Yeah after Gascione if you talked to Eileen she’ll be gone regardless

No, she was there until I started exploring the Forbidden Woods. So far, I’ve killed Gascoigne, Blood Starved Beast, Vicar Amelia, Darkbeast Paarl, Witch of Hemwick, and now I’m gonna kill whoever is in those woods.

Weird yeah something got jacked up with your questline hope that works out for you

Hahaha, I really want to jack her up and those nice blades of hers. I’m no different, nay even worse, than those beasts.

From what I hear

Spoiler

If you don’t help her kill the hunters or something to that effect she’ll come after you around the point you’d finish her quest

When the frail of heart join the fray… the hunter becomes the hunted!

Logarius is an asshole.

Also, I didn’t know you could use the Hunter’s Mark during a boss battle. I tried it out during that fight because I had a bunch of echoes I wanted to spend and didn’t want to risk dying before I could recover them.

You can Bone (or the equivalent) out in all the Souls games. It’s a time-honoured technique!

Finally defeat Ebrietas after god knows how many hours. It’s definitely one of those bosses I hated in the beginning but ended up loving. Top three thus far.

Oh and the music for the boss is pretty good as well.

Ebrietas in 30 seconds. Note that the build ain’t complete yet

Finally beat the game on my blind playthrough. I got it at launch, but then I went on vacation for a week, and I didn’t play it nonstop, so I’m excused for being slow, OKAY? Okay!

Anyway, it took me, let’s see… 54 hours. That’s satisfying.

Humblebrag time: Only thing I looked up was whether the game forces you into NG+ upon beating it. Only BIG things I missed out on in the main game were:

Spoiler

Cainhurst Castle and (as you might have expected from a blind run) the true ending. Only got two of the “third umbilical cords”, and looking at a guide for them, they were out of my reach by the end of the game anyway.

Did a total of five chalice dungeons:

Spoiler

Pthumerian, Pthumerian Root, Central Pthumerian, Hintertomb, Lower Hintertomb.

(In retrospect I should’ve skipped all that Arcane since I hardly ever used the lightning thingy I leveled it for, but hey! That’s curiosity for ya.)

Now that I’m through the game, I can actually start READING about it! And goodness gracious me, there’s still plenty of small stuff to do. Now to try to do the NPC quests (along with that other big stuff I missed) in NG+. And possibly more chalice dungeons, as they’re getting interesting.

Now for some screenshots! Not all that spoilery, but some of them were taken by the PS4 when I got trophies and I liked their look (though cropped away the trophy text), and some of them I took for the fun of it.

Do phys atk up 27% cursed waning gems even exist?
I might need to get rid of all my weapons who have waning gems on it then.

I just can not beat the blood starved best worth the thread cane.

I dunno why.

I’m kinda stuck. This is why I hate taking a break from these types of games because when I come back I have no idea where to go. I’ve beat Logarius, Rom, Amigalalala, Hemwick, that crazy nightmare guy, that mess of human parts, and Paarl. I’m just doing Chalice dungeons as filler until I figure out where to go next.

[details=Spoiler]You don’t wanna be too close most of the time, so stay whip mode. But, make use of those dash-counterattacks: When you’re done dodging and see a real opening, use your whip-sweep dodge-R1 at medium range, or dodge-L1 cane stab into one or two extra cane hits if close.

The tricked forward-R2 jumping attack is great for long-range damage, when you know you have the time for it and BSB isn’t moving sideways. The tricked regular R2 has a good radius and range too.

I find that BSB is actually more predictable and easier to dodge if you stay in the open, only getting behind pillars when you need room to heal. When I tried using the pillars, it just made it harder to tell where the next lunge was going.[/details]
