Easily the least fun boss for me. I don’t mean it was especially hard, but it’s just so freakin ugly, and I HATE being in Yahar’gul post-Rom
I’ve actually just been sprinting through Yarhar’gul only doing fights I have to do for whatever reason. Stuff down there is waaay too fucked up to be hanging around for long.
What I wasn’t liking about The One Reborn was that I couldn’t tell how I was getting damaged. I’d run up on a leg and hit him once or twice and then for some reason take half a bar of damage. It’s like he exudes some kind of puss that fucks you up. I only got him down like 1/4th of a bar before I was flat out of vials and was like “fuck it” and used a hunters mark. Fight kiiiind of reminds me of the Tower Knight from Demon’s the way he’s got the bell maidens up top trying to make shit harder then it needs to be. Gotta run up there and fuck em up.
I had found my way back into Iosefkas Clinic a while back and found the invite to Cainhurst Castle, think I’m gonna put The One Reborn on hold and scope that place out, lvl up some so I can do more damage to The One Reborn when I go for round 2.
Anyway I share your sentiments about the boss and the area in general @Gasaraki, shit’s fucked.
Well, I haven’t fought him without killing the maidens first so I don’t know if they were causing the mysterious damage, but depending on where you were attacking, his little legs in the center of his body WILL kick you and damage you. If it’s not that, one of this spells is dropping viscera on you basically. You might have gotten hit by that but didn’t see it clearly because you were right next to him. It’s actually pretty easy to avoid damage from so I suggest staying at a distance for a while and just seeing what attacks he does. I am like 99% positive that he doesn’t have a passive damaging attack
Yea it’s not the Maidens, I killed them. Put that Tower Knight Knowledge to the grind stone sir!
Yea it may have been the viscera hitting me from behind, I’m not sure. I’ll give him another go at some point, hopfully before my bro comes to collect his PS4 since he’s back in town tonight. I was hoping to at least have 1 cycle finished before he got back but I dunno man, there’s so fuckin much to do. I found the key to Upper Cathedral Ward, wanna see what the fuck is up there, that locked door been bothering me for like two weeks now. Still need to finish Yarhar’gul, wanna do Cainhurst, Knightmare Frontier. So much shit to do man. So much shit to do.
Lulz at the Celestial Emissary Boss.

Lulz at the Celestial Emissary Boss.
Yeah, that was more of a miniboss. Don’t miss the ACTUAL boss of that area. You have to break something to proceed from that boss room
Yea I found Ebrietas or whatever. She mauled me. Another to come back to later. After and the Celestial Emissary I dunno wtf to expect from this game anymore. I’m in Cainhurst now. Gettin my Castlevania on.
Edit: Got through Cainhurst, Martyer Logarious was a dope ass fight. Got him on my first try. That whole area, and meeting the Queen made me feel like a boss. I then was farming in cathedral ward when I found Ileen. Decided to finish her quest and holy fucking shit this dude puts out the hurt. Good damn.
Edit: Ebriteas lasers are fucking stupid.

lol
IMO worst part of Ebrietas is her tackle move and her dive bomb move. I can’t seem to dodge those AT ALL unless I was already really far away form her when she started the move.
I found if I hug her right tail she wont do the dive bomb or the charge. She just circles around trying to swat me, a lot like the Cleric Beast actually. It’s when she powers up and starts draining my health that my Vials start disappearing at an alarming rate (damage due to proximity is always bullshit imo) and the lasers tend to just one shot me. They wouldn’t be so bad if it wasn’t so hard to see them coming. I can’t tell when they start shooting off so I’m not sure when to start rolling. I wonder if sprinting in a a somewhat tight circle around her would work better. Could also just do a dry run and do a count down when she starts charging to when they fire so I know the timing.
I already got some ideas on what to do with her tomorrow, it’s just late enough now that it’s effecting my playing, I don’t think I have an honest shot at her at the moment. Need rest.
I got a Q for you tho Gasa, this ties a little into my plans for tomorrow. If I equip the Beast Runes is there a chance I’ll be able to take advantage of my beast pills? I tried using them earlier in the game, but I couldn’t even begin to try filling up that fuckin meter. Items so damn weird. It gives you a strength boost and “Beast Mode” (I know it’s not really a beast mode, as cool as that would be) but it doesn’t seem like one is really ever able to take advantage of the item. Should read up on it on the Wiki perhaps. Anyway gonna turn in and head to my own Hunters Dream, will give that Celestial Bitch another shot tomorrow.
Edit: Eh, did some reading on the item on the Wiki and it doesn’t sound worth trying. She’s Kin so I’ll probably dump my fire paper and take some Bolt Paper instead.

Lasers are pretty easy as long as you back off. They have a set timing and rhythm, you just have to see it and memorize it. It’s kind of hard to see that she’s even getting that attack ready when you’re that close, so yeah during her third phase I would suggest backing off. At least until you learn her better.
Also, sprinting does work, but you have to do it from far-ish away and perpendicular to their trajectory. Definitely works though.
Basically, the lower your beast hood stat, the smaller the meter to fill is, but apparently from what I’ve been told, it ALSO means it drains itself much faster. So high beasthood = more of it and longer lasting. In other words to take full advantage of it, you really want at least one Beast rune, high beasthood clothing, and very low insight(or none).
I’ve never seen a 20 rating of Cursed Tempering Damp Blood Gem (The one that raises physical attack by 24~27% or so up).
Does it only drop from a cursed depth 5 boss or something?
I’ve only been able to get tier 17-19 from the watchers.

I’m not anywhere near that far into the Chalice Dungeons so I’m not really sure lol. Still from playing the higher depths, that would make sense. Bosses always tend to drop the best ones, and they seem to be better the lower in Layer you are too.
The blind guy has such a cool beast form. Too bad the game gave me poison darts and a narrow corridor so I can cheese him out for free.
Started a new character because I want to play Fashion Borne. Bad ass old man with the pimp cane looking regal as fuck. I just need to get to Cainhurst so I can get the Knight ponytail to finish it off.
I finally finished off ebrietas last night and was at a loss where to go until I remembered I still needed to do the other nightmare.
Fuck.my.life.
I spent over an hr just trying to figure out how to approach, finally get a good method, kill the bell maiden(while getting invaded 3 times to put me at 1 and 2 in wins vs losses in this area) to get the mini boss to 1 hit with no vials left,I was on the Fucking stairs to circle back to the high ground and he clips my though the floor.
I made a hulk smash face and logged off.
Got my copy of the guide today. Good stuff. I do wish there were more concept art and lore information included. I’d especially like a section dedicated to delving into the lore of Bloodborne.
Just dropped Ebrietas.
One thing I will say about Ebrietas, her theme music was CRAZY GOOD.
Yea get theme was great.
Just found Patches behind the site in the lecture hall.
He’s seen better days.
That also means I just found the nightmare of mensisx which means it’s probably time to burn my 50 insight.
Yo those little worm things the enemies drop when they die. wtf?
Took a break from the game when MKX dropped. I’m ready to get back in. All I need to do know is fight the first hunter guy. Any tips on how to beat him?

Use the music box. That will actually distract him, thus giving you a chance to get some free hits in. Once he transforms though, just be careful.
