So I just beat Cainhurst. After I started figuring out his second phase and being patient, he wasn’t that bad. Looks like I am at the end of the game, because my house is on fire and the doll was saying Gerhman is waiting. I still haven’t finished all of the chalice dungeons (only beat 2). So its like I’m not ready to finish the game. Feels like I still have a lot to do.
Made it to the Lost Woods. Cleared out that RE4 village, made it through the water, but then decided to take a break and let me mum play FFXIV. Will get back to it tonight tho. I’m feelin like the boss must be comin up soon. I’m still rockin the Hunters Saw, in typical Miyazaki Souls fashion the starter weapons are pretty fuckin good.
Well, chalice dungeon progress is not reset when you go to NG+, so that much is fine. If there’s other stuff you want to check out in the world though, then yeah better do it now,
Also I bought Ludwigs Holysword, and it’s really good, I see why it’s so popular in PvP. If you like old Souls Straight swords AND Heavy Swords then it’s a perfect fit for you. I like that the Heavy Sword form has an attack on L2 since you can’t use your gun. Great touch.
The woods is a pretty big area. If you haven’t met the snake guys yet then you still have a bit to go.
Man some people are so ass at these games it’s unreal. Like I’m no master but I’ll get summoned and either have to fight the boss on my own for the player or they run in not knowing fuck about shit and die within 30secs. I get that silly shit just happens sometimes, hell I’ve had my fair share of bad luck in boss fights, but it gets so fucking frustrating. /rant
For some reason Game keep changing the guides release date ;_;
Pffft haha wow. Ok so found the boss of the Forbidden Woods. Fuckin Gank bosses man, and these guys are fuckin equipped. Fire magic, a flame thrower, and a katana? They toasted me, I dont even really know how to begin trying to tackle this fight.
Think im gonna go back and take on Paarl again, I have gear and a rune with stat boosts against bolt so that should help some. See I can get past him and try leveling some before taking on the shadows again. I know when im outclassed lol.
There are two ways to handle the fight. Handle Katana man first because he is the most aggressive. Afterward handle flamethrower dude. You can just bait him into using his flame thrower and dodge behind him and combo the shit out of him.
I actually killed fire magic guy first on accident because it kept locking on to him, and I was able to off him on three combos.
Also they become normal enemies later on in the game.
I just hid behind the pillar and dealt with them one at a time. Samurai guy gets parried to death.
I’m honestly more worried about the flame thrower guy, I know he’s gonna saunter up behind me and light my ass on fire when I’m tryin to deal with Katan Boy. Parrying the Katana for those sweet sweet invul frames is an idea tho.
I took down Darkbeast Paarl and was stoked to explore some more of that area only to find that the door lead to Old Yarnahm. Seriously one of those “ah ha!” moments that was seriously lacking from Dark Souls 2. The fuckin short cuts in this game, and the way the city winds back into itself. Man, it’s so fuckin cool. With that said, there must be more to the Unseen City…Will look around more later, but I kind of hope that’s not all there is to that place, tho I wont be missing the bag guys at all.
I also got the Tonsil Stone earlier when exploring the Forbidden Woods. Took that dude up on his advice and checked out the church near the Grand Cathedral, got grabbed by one of those creepy ass invisible monsters and it teleported me to some fuckin lecture hall where giant slugs in graduation caps tried to kill me lool. Weird ass area. Also found my good friend Patches. Nice to see you again man. I’m sure I’ll be curing your ass in the near future when you kick me down a hole…again.
I went through the door at the end of the lecture hall and that teleported me somewhere new as well, somewhere way worse then the lecture hall. Nightmare Frontier. Yea this place seems to live up to it’s name. Only explored up to the area where those dudes throw rocks at you, and the water line. Stepped in the water and saw that it poisons me, decided it was too late to put up with that shit and went back to the lamp, ported back to the Hunters Dream and spent my souls and turned it off lol.
Not sure what to do tomorrow. Either explore more of the Nightmare Frontier and try to figure out how to deal with this games frankly very dangerous poison status effect, or go try those shadows again. I did find a flame protection rune that should help a bit with that fight so that’s nice. Or maybe explore more of the Chalice Dungeon I opened up earlier today. I did one floor then went back to the main game. Those Chalice Dungeons look like a really good way to give the game more life then it probably already has, so excited to see more of what them shits is about.
Just got the chikage, this weapon is just too beautiful, specially when 2 handed
Man this sucks been trying to summon people to help with ebrietas for like 40 mins.
I take it I wasn’t supposed to submit my life to Gerhman? Oh well, now I’m in new game plus.
Well, it’s just one of the 3 endings. It’s not really a matter of “supposed to” or not.
Found Rom. First time, got killed by it’s spawn. Second time, I slowly pick away at them and then start dealing damage to the Rom. I was thinking, that’s it? This isn’t bad. Heck, when I powered up my whip with fire, two strong hits took him done by about 1/5-1/4 his total health. It will probably just spawn more helpers later. Then, Rom disappears and the music kicks in. “I’m going to get wrecked soon aren’t I?” Moments after finishing that thought, a rain of icicles kills my character.
Speak of the devil, was coming in here to ask for advice on dealing with Roms Ice meteors.
Best way to dodge icicle rain is to look up and try to run, unlocked, exactly perpendicular to their trajectory. You can avoid all of them without rolling this way. I’ve actually avoided them entirely by running directly parallel INTO them before too but that seems less likely to work.
Ugh I took a break and did some chalice dungeons, back to summoning at ebrietas.
Man everybody must be playing mkx there’s nobody here today
I actually just got him, but thanks for the advice Gasa.
I also just noticed that stuff is getting a lot more expensive as I get super into the game. Buuuuuullshit lol.
I found The One Reborn.
I wish I hadn’t found The One Reborn.
