By āstuckā I meant once you kill the endgame boss, it puts you straight into NG+ with all those echoes you gained. And you canāt use them to level up until you meet the Cleric Beast at least once.

Yeah I know that, but you donāt have to meet any boss once to level up in NG+. As long as you have more than 1 insight the doll will be awake. I forget if sheās always inanimate the first time you go in, but if she is, you could literally go in, back out, then go back in.
Even in NG, itās actually not the act of meeting a boss that makes her animate, itās getting 1 point of insight.
I didnāt know that. I went in to the Hunterās Dream for the first time and she was inanimate. Went back after seeing the Cleric Beast and she was awake, so I just assumed thatās what triggered it. The insight makes more sense though. I just donāt get why she was inanimate the first time I saw her considering I had around 15 insight.
It might just be that way for story reasons. As I said though, I bet if you went RIGHT back in youād see her awake
I just realized that iāve only visted the chalice dungeon once and defeated coughundeadgiantcough. Did i miss anything related to the actual story?
The whole chalice dungeons thing is a bit confusing anyway. Can one of you fine ladies or gentleman explain it to me?

Edit: as for story, not really, but the tombs or labyrinths referred to by characters and item descriptions is the Chalice stuff. There is one bit of lore and actually a key item or two down there but no oneās sure what the uses of them are yet
