I think I might have found the thing that I want to call bullshit on.
There’s this NPC in a quest line you have to kill. Dude two or three shots me. Unlike the other NPC hunters he dodges A LOT and doesn’t really let you hit him at all unless you have him cornered, though he’ll get out eventually. I landed 5 visceral attacks on him and he had just over half his HP left. One time I got him below 50% and then he used a blood vial.
WELL FUCK YOU YOU PIECE OF SHIT.
Ugh if I give up on this though I’ll feel like gutter trash. Need a break, I’ll try again tomorrow…
He might be a more end game content type NPC.
I mean, yeah you’re right but I’m level 52, I’m not that far from end-game level strength. From what I can tell I’m about 2/3rds of the way through the game but damnit. I need to beat him to get a weapon that I want really bad. I can actually resort to killing a different non-combative NPC but it just feels wrong, and personally I hate killing non-hostile NPCs, let alone for such a reason.
…But my conviction is pretty weak cause I’m already thinking about doing it.
After getting lost and ending up at Father Gavoouvsgvxsgvx’s area, I wandered around for like 30 minutes until I finally found the Cleric Beast… Tried to “Homeward Bone” out after I ran out of vials to go spend my Blood, but I used the one that forfeits all your stuff. Lost 7.5k, fought him again, died, THEN the doll bitch decided to wake her ass up.
It’s an understatement to say I’m salty as fuck right now…
So I’m somewhat far in the game and the tone has changed pretty drastically. To be honest, it’s actually quite unnerving for me. This isn’t a critique, but a personal thing I guess. But man being in the Hunter’s Dream and talking to the doll and hearing the new theme that plays here, I feel the “safeness” of this place much greater than before.
I think there’s something to be said about how the world goes to shit and the only place for the player hunter to feel safe is a dream world…
Lol, the game doesn’t let you level up at all until you have at least 1 point of Insight, which is that little eyeball symbol in the hud. You get one point once you’ve encountered a boss, and 3 upon defeating it
If only I had known that… I would’ve made sure I had the right item on my bar and saved that Blood… FUCK. I killed EVERYTHING between the starting point and Father Gasctujcjbsgk trying to find that boss. Oh well…
Any of you mooks find that spooky-scary secret area yet?
It’s around where you get the shit for the Holy blade.
You find an unlimited use items that eats a few bullets but boosts your dodge and speed or whatever, a piece of an umbilical cord(whatever the hell that’s for) and the doll’s clothing. You can also find an item that you can give to the doll and she’ll give you a negligible health regen blood gem.
Her clothes are garbage but they’re worth a whole lot, used them to buy the holy blade, which I thought was hopelessly expensive for me.
EDIT: Hurr. Not a really a spoiler, opens up after you beat the blood starved beast.
Yeah the dodge speed up item is pretty damn great but too expensive for too short of a duration IMO. I’ve used it in some boss battles though, the speed boost is pretty significant. I imagine it could get really annoying real fast in PvP too.
My character always has the body clothing from the Doll set on. Looks good =)
Apparently you can make the hunter in old Yharnam nonhostile and he’ll give you his stuff. I wish I knew that. Fighting him was a pain in the ass.
Any of you guys down for helping me beat Vicar or whatever the name of that white wolf bitch is.
I swear the players I summon are such fucking garbage.
I had to finish off the blood starved beast myself because I got tired of fighting a boss tougher than normal due to me summoning help and them dying half way through or before.
Finally got to play again after not being able to do so the past couple of days. Beat the Cleric Beast (finally!) and immediately got lost. Ended up stumbling into Gather Gascoyne and dying (after getting him down to half life). Are there any lanterns or shortcuts near him aside from the Central Yarnham and Bridge ones?
Holy fuck, i’ll be honest here, i am not sure if i am made for this game.
I have yet to pass the 1st part of the game, i keep being wrecked by those 2 damn wolves at the bridge
downloading this game right now from PSN store
You can run past them to the boss or use molotovs on them to fuck them up easily.
EDIT:
Got a question. I can now use gems at the work bench, I just put the Red Blood Gem in my Saw Cleaver, but I have another gem called Tempering Blood Gemstone that doesn’t appear and I can’t use it from my inventory like the last one. How do you use this one exactly?
I realize this info can be wikied easily, but I’m trying my best to avoid info on the game online outside of questions on here in the fear of reading spoilers.
You can easy pick off the wolves at the bridge if you run back to the house. They are too big to fit through the door. Poke away until they die.
How? Not looking forward to fighting that asshole lol.
Those bastards had me screaming on stream because they chased me ALL the way back to where that mob was patrolling, then never reset their location. Ended up cheesing them with Molotovs after they got stuck behind a fence.
You unlock more gem slots when you upgrade the weapon pass a certain point. The second slot will unlock once you need to use twin blood stones to upgrade.

Probably have to do so to get a trophy, since he teaches a gesture if you wear the whole church set.

Even when I take the first gem out, the other doesn’t even appear in the menus when at the work bench, not even grayed out, that’s why I was confused as to what to do with it, the Tempering Blood Gemstone that is.
