Logarius got his ass Evo Moment 37’d. This game is all tragedy and triumph. I find myself rage quitting…for like 3 minutes before I turn my PS4 back on. Only died to Logarius twice before realizing his aggressive form telegraphs parry opportunities. 5 repostes later…
I’m about to give up on this game. I don’t mind dying, but the storyline format has me not knowing even why I’m dying…what’s going on etc. Can’t motivate myself to play as I don’t see a pay-off.
You’re a hunter from a foreign land come to Yharnam because you are sick. You seek blood transfusion because blood from the Healing Church cures any ailment. As part of your contract, you are sent out to hunt beasts and seek “paleblood”.
There you go. That’s why you’re dying. Also not “gittin’ gud” is why you’re dying. In all seriousness, enjoy the gameplay and watch a lore video after you beat the game.
Honestly, I found that watching the lore video, spoilers and all helped me get into the game more. Knowing why, for example, I was going to Cainhurst made me excited to get through it and…
Decided to redo my Bloodtinge build from scratch. When I got Amelia I went right to the Hunters Nightmare, unlocked the first shortcut, and then killed Simon for his weapon. He was surprisingly easy to kill. I thought he would be pretty tough being an NPC and I only being like lvl 30 or something, but he went down in one try. Highly recommend luring him to the Lamp room in order to use the pillars an such in there for cover. Fighting him in the hallway he starts in only works in his favor imo.
So Simons Bow Blade is fuckin tits. This thing is really fun. The sword forms moveset is pretty good, tho slow, I could see it’s moves being pure parry bait in PVP. You wind up for at least half a second before swinging. In PVE tho it’s pretty damn good. Nice moveset with great sweeping swings, and the regular R2 is pretty effective to. The charge R2 is a mixed bag tho imo. If you can charge it up all the way while close to an enemy it’s pretty good, but if there’s like…any distance between the two of you the first rotation is going to wiff. tHe second rotation hits rather reliably tho, and of the two swings it does the most damage so not so bad. Still annoying that the first swing wiffs so often tho. Witht at said, it’s doubly obnoxiou when it comes to back stabs. Only the second rotation of the fully charged R2 actually puts them in a Visceral State and I’ve had the second rotation shift my postion enough for the second swing to still hit, but not hit them in the back. Kind of annoying. So gotta be a bit more careful with it’s backstab attempts them other weapons like the Saw Cleaver an such.
Bow Mode is fuckin OP lol. Back dash transform is a super fast arrow shot, the R1 arrow shots are quick as hell, and the charge R2 is bonkers lol. Only downside is it takes bullets, but fuck it, just run with the Bullet Up Rune and the Vial Up Rune for making bullets and you’ll have plenty of arrows to fuck the world up with. Also R2 Charge Arros causing Back Stab? Fucking amazing. In co-op this thing has to be the ultimate support weapon.
Now I just need to decide what to get to 50 first. Bloodtinge or Skill.
Also been doing the Chalice Dungeons slow and steady with this build and am actually having fun with them this time. The Pthumeru Chalice and Pthumeru Root Chalice have got me at a nice comfy level of 52 before even getting to Rom, and I have some decent blood gems for this point in the game (better then anything in the "campaign) so my bow blade is sitting nasty pretty. I’m interested to see what Rom is gonna be like with this build. I think this weapon might fuck him up pretty bad lool.
I’m so glad we can get 3 Blood Rocks per cycle now. Gonna max out the Bow Blade, the Evelyn, and probably the Rakuyo if I like it when I get it. Might go Chikage tho. Dunno for sure yet, all depends on how much I like the Rakuyo. Also doing a Doll/Maria cosplay so might skip the Rakuyo and save it for that. Dunno yet tho.
Yea I’m the same. If I get invaded then I’ll participate cuz it’s part of the game, but I don’t tend to like it very much, especially in Bloodborne where having the right gems is so important and I usually don’t do the Chalice Dungeons on my builds, so I tend to get wrecked no matter how well I play anyway. Hell I’m only giving the Chalice Dungeons another go because I’ve pretty much burned out the main game and need new shit to do and explore and fight (besides the DLC) and the Chalice Dungeons fit the bill…Well and I’m in NG+3 on my Str/Arc build and the campaign gems are no longer cutting it in the damage department. Got me interested in doing them with a build thats not OP as fuck for the lower level ones. The Gems are nice to have to.
But yea don’t really care about PVP in Souls. Never have. I’ll take part if you invade me tho.
Really I just saw someone do a full speedrun, DLC and all and was saying that most don’t bother with the any percentage with bloodborne as generally a bloodborne speedrun is almost like a boss rush.
