I’ve been noticing that I’ve been getting hit out of blockstun with multiple hit air moves such as Morrigan jumping shell kick (s) or Hawkeye spinning bow, or Hisen-ko’s jumping normals. If i’m standing and I successfully block the first hit i tend to hold down back and press buttons to push block because in Vanilla I’d immediately be in blockstun so I could pushblock. Now I’m finding that I get hit out of blocking with these moves and I do not successfully pushblock. Have they changed the properties of blocking now?
If this is true I think its a good thing as it will force me to block better, but I would like to know if this is true or not so I can watch out for it more.
You must have been unknowingly blocking correctly then, because the game does not autoblock high/low for you. Or you might have been in the air and blocking, since there is no high/low in that case.
I may test this tomorrow, I don’t remember it being that way, maybe my skill has gone down since I put vanilla down for a month before Ultimate came out.
They were right, you should be getting opened up by the later hits of those attacks. I know for Morrigan in Vanilla MVC3, I thought she was really easy to defend against because her dash is so slow, but her multi-hitting j.S would open me up anyways because it hits multiple times (and I would defend like you said).
One thing that might have happened is you were playing online, so you thought you were blocking low but really the game delayed your low block input.
