Blizzard Overwatch 2.0

that new map looks pretty dope, also bridget looks fun
I guess I need to comeback playing some games in O again

Yea i knew it wouldnt last.

Her getting 2 nerfs within the first week of being out kinda makes me question what of hers they DID change during PTR.

Any Brigitte players here notice moments where your melee won’t come out? A handful of times now I’ve been in a fight and melee just won’t come out, as if it were on cooldown or something. I’m still moving around so it’s not the controller losing the signal.

Not that but have had her charge not come out. Hit both triggers and nuthin.

Or during the 40 days she’s been on live servers without being available for comp for whatever reason…
I think the cooldown nerf on Shield Bash is fair, although I would’ve done something else like reducing the shield hp to create more counterplay and forcing her to rely more on her tanks for her own protection. I also understand the logic behind the max armor nerf, cause right now you can just pop ult in between fights and give yourself a huge advantage for the next fight during which you will be able to build your next ult. People now will have to use Rally more like any other defensive ult and not like a free armor generator.

btw new Hanzo is extremely fun. I would never have thought that he needed something like Lunge, but now I can’t even think of going back to his previous clunky and cumbersome iteration. There are just so many ways to use that ability and make plays with it. His charged arrows now have almost no arc even from 50 meters away and his Scatter replacement manages to delete all the BS of the previous ability and give him a tool that is as strong if not stronger than Scatter. It’s hilarious to turn into a hitscan every 8 seconds and make both Tracer and tanks’ lives miserable. I think for the first time they really nailed a rework.

With all the recent and less recent changes announced for the game (including the upcoming Symmetra rework), I believe the developers ended up realizing that mobility is a key component of OW and that no hero can be viable if they don’t have either 1. a decent form of mobility, 2. something to give mobility or support mobile heroes 3. any ability that can limit the enemy mobility (crowd control). I wouldn’t be surprised if traditionally slow heroes like Rein will end up getting mobility buffs at some point.

Yeah, new Symmetra will be interesting. I’m not a fan of the changes because I like her as she is but it sounds hilariously broken on paper so I’m intrigued how she turns out.

Well Sym’s design is probably outdated given how the game evolved since launch. However I like that they are updating her without giving up on her “architect” aspect. Both the portal gun new tp and the Mexico wall new barrier enhance her in a builder’s position all while opening up a crazy amount of new possibilities to make plays.
The only thing I don’t like is that she will be defenseless with no escapes and no self barrier. I’m not sure that the turrets can make up for the removal of barrier unless their deploy time is almost instant.

Well with an unreactable Genki-Dama, a Zarya beam and steroid turrets that she can throw at her feet when a flanker is approaching I don’t think she’ll be defenseless.

She can’t stop Ultimates anymore though, that’s a bummer. Always liked throwing the shield at an ulting Pharah.

Her new ult might be good to stop ults depending on how fast it charges. An ult for an ult is still a decent trade.

My problem is with duels. Damage alone won’t save you against all the various forms of crowd control in this game. What will you do when a Hog tries to hook you or when McCree wants to flashbang you? Right now you have the barrier, but after the rework you will just have to play behind cover or hope you can kill them before they can reach you.

If you think about it there’s no DPS in the game that doesn’t have any form of defense, self-sustain or escape. Actually the only “defenseless” hero in the game currently is Zen, but with his discord he can just obliterate you before you even realize. So if they want to remove Sym’s self defense they would have to make her at least as good as Zen as a fragger.

Hero 28 is a hamster in a mech. The hamster is named Hammond but he goes by Wrecking Ball. He’s a high mobility off-tank.

The mech part of the character is cool, don’t care much for the mascotty hamster though.

Also in the PTR Sombra has infinite duration on her Stealth and Translocator. McCree has damage fall-off on max-range primary fire buffed from 30% to 50%.

That’s retarded. Edit: nevermind, they also nerfed some aspects about those skills to balance it out. Can go either way I guess.

Hamsterball is stupid and awesome at the same time.

that new hero looks hella fun

I can’t fucking play Torb with nu-Symmetra on my team she keeps teleporting my turrets. Like she thinks she knows better turret placement but gets them destroyed instead.

lol wait Sym can move Torbs turrets around on her own?

Thats fucking hilarious. i cant believe they would ever give a player that ability. Who else can she fuck with?

Not too fond of new Sym either but due to other reasons. Her entire kit makes the screen super busy at times. Turrets shooting you from behind because you didn’t see her throwing them at you, a big shield from enemy Sym, a big shield from friendly Sym on screen, teleporters everywhere… It’s really distracting.

Plus her primary fire feels really lame, not even close to how great fully charged Zarya feels.

It’s good if you and the Sym are coordinated but a no-coms Sym is just going to fuck over a Torb, stealing his ability for her own at her discretion. I can understand building a turret on top of her teleporter, but she can put a teleporter under a turret and teleport it.

Wrecking Ball AKA Hammond is live.

Patch notes:

I wonder whose pet Moira is on the development team.

Blizzard is fucking up. Reinhardt players were already disillusioned but now this?
