bleah

I like both games based on their individual merits.

in all honesty i like usf4 way better ,but when i’m playing this game i immediately felt the strong feeling of commitment that they were aiming for, which is nice

The game has only been out for 2 day so i cant really say much about which one i fine more fun but i will say this. All issues aside the netcode is defs better than SF4 i have played a ton of matches 2 day and they have all been near flawless

Will you feel better knowing SFV is just “Street Fighter Alpha 4” but called SFV for marketing.

Anyways SFIV had so many additions and upgrades from Vanilla upto USF4 if the game was still SF4 I’d bet people would have stopped playing “Sagat Fighter 4” by 2010.
We need to give the game a chance

“7 year old game with 5 iterations is better than game released 2 days ago”

I disagree with this the most. It’s often an overlooked aspect, but the satisfaction of hearing a punch land in SFV blows SF4 out of the water.

So after only playing it for an afternoon, I have to ask where the learning curve in this game is as far as motor skills go. It doesn’t look like theres much in the way of combos - no tight links, no combo extending mechanics like FADC, lots of pushback… One of the most satisfying things in SF4 was landing a tricky combo that I practiced for a long time to perfect. If SFV doesn’t have anything like that (I don’t really know someone tell me if I’m wrong) that’s a major downside for this game for me. From what little I played, combos seem very short and very easy to do so there’s almost no point in hitting the training room. Again tell me I’m wrong if that isn’t true. On top of that okizeme seems nonexistant because characters kip up very quickly. I feel like I’m missing the ‘point’, like I don’t understand what incentive I’d have to keep practicing or why I’d feel the same competitive thrill playing this that I did for 4. So far SF5 feels like a major step down from 4 in terms of depth, but I will give the game more time to form a more complete opinion.

The combos are easier, but training room doesn’t have to be for combo practice.
