Even Aizen knew not to mess with this old man’s bankai.
nice to see my fave character gettin some face time. I was so dissapointed with how he lost to aizen. But even back then i did like the hand to hand beat down he applied . This bankai is rediculous. And ice boy being shutdown is hilarious. They just threw that in there, but it was nice to see. It’s times like these where you know he will lose, but you enjoy the ride. What kills me is the lack of explanation as to why Ichigo is so strong. At least in Naruto defense, he was imbued with an incredibly heritage and demon powers. Hell even in DBZ, Goku has a reasonable explanation as to why he’s the man. Ichigo iis just some kid, who randomly can hang with the best of the best. Not a fan of the whole ichigo will save us all shit. Unless his mom was some kinda saiyan equilavent or some shit.
I am pretty sure that we’ll find out on this last arc.
…Whaaaa? Hes basically strong for the same two reasons Naruto is: His dad and a crazy strong thing inside of him that he later becomes somewhat cool with as he learns to control.
epp, epp, epp
Tensa Zangetsu, and Hollow Ichigo are part of him, they are only personifications of his own power, so is not the same.
They’ve glossed over it in various ways. It’s been explained that he’s basically always leaking spiritual pressure whereas everyone else keeps theirs in check. It’s like, how does he not simply “run out” of spiritual pressure? His daddy is/was a shinigami. His Bankai is a super-condensed form of his leaky spiritual pressure. He also made a statement about how he’s always as strong as he needs to be in battle. And then there’s Aizen unfinished statement to him about him being a shinigami and a _________.
The real lack of explanation was for why Aizen was so strong. Like, why did Aizen have double the spiritual pressure of a normal Captain? That was why he was able to create Arrancars using the Hoho-Q. He basically one-manned Soul Society and the Vizards before he started whoring out the Hoho-Q. And even without his sword’s ability, he was still a monster.
Ichigo’s mom was a quincy.
maybe it’s just me, but how does hypnosis find a weak spot to something it can’t even touch? If anything it’d be a stalemate with the world being burned to nothing or Aizen literally drying up into a raisin. (with everyone else minus old man.)
Cause it’s not a shonen anime then (and not a interesting one at that.). Also goes into having a trump card, having faith in your subordinates to do what you don’t have to do (unless needed to). Clearly he stepped in and retardedweiss counterpicked his shikai (which old fart didn’t see coming aka Just as planned). Even then, he was still able to fend off retarded hollow. Even with 1 arm he’s still a fucking broken shinigami that’s in a living form.
It’s cause once he lost his air aizens for the mullet and tentacles, he wasn’t planning anything.
That and Urahara “just in timed” his “just as planned”. Otherwise things would have gone differently.
I also am awaiting a Aizen backstory. Be it either a side story or included in this final arc.
While I like this post, CC has fallen into the shonen manga trope of showing his trump card before the main villain does. Which means that come next week, we’re gonna be seeing something that negates this or just outright overpowers it. It’s a shame that we had to wait this long just to see something so awesome get nerfed in the span of days, but it’s Kubo Tite, Japanese troll extraordinaire.
It is so fucking awesome, though. :D:D:D:D:D:D
It’s like Chappelle’s Show Wrap It Up Box in Bankai Form.
EDIT: When they animate this, they better have the A-Team on this shit. When CC allows (holy shit, seriously??) Juha to see the flames protecting his body, that page in particular is undoubtedly CC’s best.
Well unfortunately, while he did fall into that Shonen trope, he did not have much of a choice in the matter. If he held back, he’d probably get bodied, and while he goes on, his troops are getting smoked. If he could take out the Quincy leader quickly, he can get SS to regroup and eventually win. Of course that won’t happen, but I understand the reasoning.
Sheeeit, it just keeps getting better…
It’s understandable and ok with me if the other bankai that may be shown soon aren’t as awesome, since none of them are the top dog like Old Man Yamma is. His power is supposed to be that God-Level Shit™. He wouldn’t even really be able to keep this going on for too long because it would eventually burn the entire Soul Society into nothing.
…now that I think of it… it’s odd that we’re seeing his power now before any of the other previously unrevealed ones. That’s unusually backwards there in terms of the power rankings. It’s like if a PPV in the 80s showed you Hulk Hogan vs. Ultimate Warrior…THEN followed that up with a Honky Tonk Man match. You have a “Main Event” status character getting down to business before the mid-carders and jobbers. On the other hand, it is a refreshing break from the typical format though…
Can someone remind me why the old man didn’t get his arm regened by Orihime?
:u: Because then he couldn’t level up again after jobbing with his trump card… it worked for “hold me back” kenpachi
(Part of me wants to laugh at some people actually being surprised Kenpachi got jobbed off-screen a while back, but that same part of me is still just sighing over being equally correct that As Nodt would die pointlessly to Yamamoto.
Welp, that makes Byakuya’s death even more pointless. HURRAY!)
I…actually like the Bankai that the fanfiction that I linked to came up with for Yamamoto a lot more than his actual Bankai, which I suspected would happen, but I’m still just kinda…disappointed in. Don’t get me wrong. His actual bankai is a lot more ridiculous than the Yuyu Uchigami one got there, but it’s kinda because it is so powerful here that I like the other better.
Being as hot as star is just kinda fucking ridiculous, especially since Kubo seems to want to have both ignore and utilize convection at the same damn time by not having Yamamoto’s entire area get vaporized by his “West” barrier yet have everything in Soul Society become magickally drier and hotter over vast distances. It’s especially weird because Yamamoto outright says Bach’s “Blut” can’t protect him from it, so…?
Meh. I really need to not try to apply logic to Bleach, but this part just kinda bugs me since it’s outright textually recognized for once.
Haha.
Good to see that I’m not the only one who interpreted Herr Bach’s stunned expression as “Mein Gott, I need to have stolen that shit yesterday.”
Which is totally what’s going to happen, especially after a) Yamamoto released first and b) did the Shonen thing of going out of his way to affirm and explain every facet of his power needlessly rather than just killing his enemy with the unknown aspect. I mean, Wonderweiss has basically already shown that Yamamoto’s sword can be “stolen”.
So yeah, Yamamoto’s going to get humbled so hord that the next Ichigo wannabe will still have a “purpose” after this arc is over.
It’s even funnier considering both of them, like pretty much all manga that isn’t Hunter x Hunter and frankly way too much Western media too, utterly ignore convection and that in Naruto, Fire is basically the key element of the most blatantly author-favored clan.
That said, I don’t think Bleach treats fire much better as a whole. Generally, if it’s not Yamamoto’s fire, then it tends to do jack as in Naruto. Isn’t one of the few used kidos like some fireballs or something? If so, then that pretty much never accomplishes anything. Same with Yamamoto’s own fire kido against Aizen really.
The only fire that does anything is the one from Yamamoto’s sword, including against himself since it’s basically been the only thing in the entire manga to actually injure the guy.
It probably just seems like fire gets treated better in Bleach as a whole is because there’s generally less of it and half of the time we see it, it’s coming from a completely broken character. I mean, if there were any other fire-using character, they’d be a jobber like how Rukia is to Hyouinmaru because we’ve been told repeatedly since his introduction that Yamamoto’s (fire) abilities are the bestest.
Although, yeah, it’s nice to see fire actually be, you know, dangerous for once in a shonen manga. Closest thing I’ve seen before this aside from the aforementioned Hunter x Hunter, which is really more “seinen” at this point, is Akainu killing the fuck out of Ace in One Piece due to being “hotter”.
Is there even a know bankai that would be able to touch him in this form?
[S]Soi Fon[/S]
[S]Ichimaru[/S]
[S]Byakuya[/S]
[S]Kommamura[/S]
[S]Tousen[/S]
[S]Ikkaku[/S]
[S]Hitsugaya[/S]
[S]Mayuri[/S]
Aizen may have been the only captain who wasn’t a straight 10:0 matchup against the old man’s bankai.
If he went bankai and just stood there and let all of the other captains jump him the only thing that might even reach him is Kyouraku’s game night brokenness.
hmmm…does Mayuri need to touch him tho?? His bankai breathes poison doesnt it?? Not sure the chemistry on how that would work tho lol.
The poison would burn up long before it touched him. A sword was vaporized on contact with him.
"My igloo melted! What the hell?!"
ZANKA NO TACHI!!
"In news today, the entire country of Canada has been hit with a massive heat wave. Present temperatures are in excess of 100 degrees F."
ZANKA NO TACHI!!
“Damn baby!! My junk’s still on fire from last night. Is that because of Zanka No Tachi?”
"…You wish."
-Starhammer-
The fire obviously doesn’t seem to affect Yamamoto. Flame helmet has a mask to burn the poison before it touches him. Or shoot down the huge butterfly before it even emits a lot of gas. GG
Aizen may be able to trick Yamamoto. He can’t keep his guard up indefinitely. Aizen just has to keep him under hypnosis for a really long time, assuming he could still use it against Yamamoto.
Didnt Aizen get bodied by Ichigo? Aizen is the Cell of Bleach, yea he was strong but he still got beat by a kid.
These are two oldheads fighting, im pretty sure Aizen cant touch them.
