Yea it’s always in Shikai like Ichigo but he doesn’t know it’s name or even use it to it’s full potential. It could have some special properties to unlock but at the moment he’s content with just making kabobs out of people.

Yeah, I figure that Bankai “The Overkill” is talking about is Chojiro’s or whatever the 1st Vice-Captain’s name was. …Even though he’s already dead and Captain Commander doubtless already knows what to expect since he was his direct subordinate for at least a century.
I must admit that it’s interesting that the Sternritter are able to keep the stolen Bankai (and presumably Shikai) after they’ve killed the user, especially since they outright destroy souls and prevent reincarnation of any kind, ever. I guess it fits with their “soul destruction” in a way though.
This would mean, though, that even if Byakuya is actually dead, then As Nodt’s still most dangerous Quincy subordinate we know about since now he gets to keep overpowered Senbonsakura in addition to his own extremely powerful fear-based “arrows”.
Goddamn it, Kenpachi cut up the pretty androgynous Quincy.

No need to feel bad about it: I honestly didn’t realize it until it myself until I woke up like an hour and a half ago. It just seems so obvious now, especially given Bleach has pretty much always had this undertone, post Soul Society arc, of subtle, casual racism/xenophobia with pretty much every bad guy being non-Japanese.
“Real talk”: I’m never been more glad about “Black Dude Dies First” than when it applies to utter stereotypes. It doesn’t help that the guy’s design basically just seems to be Yammy with fangs.
As for As Nodt, yeah, he should be able to do absolutely stupid projectile spam solo now, especially since now he can hide fear arrows in Senbonsakura and protect himself omni-directionally with two different types of projectiles.
Too bad he’s likely doomed to job to Ichigo, especially now that Yamamoto is currently tied up with someone else (even if that encounter is likely to be short).

Damn, I was hoping Byakuya was still alive and fighting. Best way to beat Nodt was to hide some of Byakuya’s his Shikai blade petals within the Bankai ones. Then make a sneak attack. But I guess Ichigo will save the day.
I guess Kubo is not sick anymore? Cool chapter nonetheless. Kenpachi being Kenpachi is awesome. In actuality, he shouldn’t need help for awhile. He’s badass on base level, no patch power up (his Shikai), then Kendo/using two hands on his sword (his Bankai), then doing both (his Final Getsuga Tenshou).
I don’t think anyone can use both at the same time, especially not Byakuya since he drops his sword into the ground when he releases.
