Aizen showing up in hueco mundo makes no sense, since he is supposedly imprisoned in SS, right?
He’s locked up in hell for 1000 years.
But its Aizen…he prolly planned that…
- :bluu:
aizen is not coming back, belive it
i can almost see kubo explaining the lack of kenpachi action because he lost his way again when going to the battlefield, remember that kenpachi has a poor sense of direction
Nah bruh. They gave my nigga 30,000 years, b. THIRTY THOUSAND. He didn’t deserve that, yo. He only killed 46 people. The justice system in SSis fucked up, man. They just want to put all the good niggas behind bars… in a chair… with leather straps from head to toe.
Hmm I thought they only gave him a stack. 30 sounds more like it. But…it’s Aizen…
They did NOT kill him…so he’ll be back.
- :bluu:
SS justice systems like Canada. Kill some people, claim insanity, and they slap you on the wrist.
A: We don’t know if he was or not.
B: I don’t know how “independent” it was, every captain had his lieutenant with him/her to monitor the process, communicate the results, and continue the fight (save for dog-face, I can’t remember if his 2nd was with him). Shunsui acted like it was inevitable/expected and Mayuri was pissed they did it so quick.
They thought it was a seal of some sort, not a full theft of power. Hence everyone’s astonished faces.
No plan survives contact with the enemy…
He’s always been shown to respect orders. Whenever his Captain Commander told him to go somewhere, he does it. And they already knew something happened to seal bankai, they said it when the old man’s right hand was killed. There are no enemy tactics that were not explained already. The one thing that changed is they didn’t seal away bankai, they stole them. Kenpachi still killed them all
And he doesn’t care about an enemy’s plan because he has bulldozed through them all since Ichigo first came to Soul Society. There’s no explanation or trump card idea that can explain his absence. Kubo knew he was the plot hole in his arc idea, and decided to keep him as far as possible. It’s as dumb as you can get.
So Ichigo “Kakashi” is trapped in the Quincy time-out box “Water Prison jutsu”, and now Soul Society “Naruto+Sasuke” has to get him out.
Inb4 Ichigo gets Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan.
People acting like Aizen won’t be back. Please…you could’ve stabbed him 50 times, and it will be all according to that man’s plans. He’s the child of David Xanatos and Doctor Doom. Acting like he won’t be back…
Yes he does it, but he also takes his sweet time about it. CC ordered his ass to go to Hollow Mexico and help Ichigo, and he did - but it’s not like he went all out against his opponent right off the get go. And really, if you know your enemy has been researching you and planning, would you not expect that they would have a plan to fight the one captain everyone knows doesn’t have a bankai?
I think we’ll get an answer eventually to what Kenpachi is doing, if he’s lost again because he’s listening to the directions of his toddler lieutenant, then lulz @ Kubo plot hole sidestep, but I can see him fighting the sternritter’s strongest guy eventually (the Quincy assigning him to deal with Kenpachi because the bankai-theft trick won’t work) or Kenpachi trying to chase down the leader. Kubo said this arc was going to last a couple/few years, I can’t imagine he’s going to end this particular invasion quickly. There’s plenty of time to check in on Kenpachi yet.
And seal != steal. I’m just guessing that they expected that it was some sort of kido/magic type of seal that prevented its use but they would still be connected to it - i’m basing this on Hitsugaya commenting that he can’t feel anything, and Byakuya’s (who’s familiar with Kido/seals) complete astonishment. I get the vibe that this didn’t just steal their bankai, but stole the spiritual power of their zanpaktou completely, rendering it just a sword and taking a large chunk of their power/abilities away - otherwise Byakuya and the others should still be able to use their Shikai, but none seem to be able to now.
I don’t care about the technicalities, if you can’t use your bankai you can’t use your bankai no matter the verbiage you use to describe it.
There’s “can’t use your bankai” and “can’t use your zanpaktou”. One suggests that only one power/ability has been stopped, the other means that part of their damn soul has been taken.
It’s the difference between not being able to crank the stereo up in your car, and not having a car
When they first introduced bankai being useless, zanpaktou was never in question. Ever. It was always bankai. Go back and read from when the Captain Commander’s right-hand was killed. He just mentions bankai, never the other.
I think you should reread.
The vice captain died before he could say much at all:
“There’s something I need to tell you…”
“They can…”
“Bankai…”
-dead-
During Mayuri’s report:
"According to Sasakibe’s last words, they can block the Bankai, or at least render…"
Captain Commander: “Enough”
That’s it. That’s all they knew. Everything else is speculation. The full extent of what went on was never understood or explicitly stated other than they had something that somehow negated Bankai. They didn’t know how, nor the extent.
Now we know that at Bankai they can steal it completely, and if the absence of connection with the Zanpaktou as well as the absence of shikai use by the Captains that were affected is any sign, then the Bankai block was much more than just a negation of a specific move - instead it’s the negation of all zanpaktou power.
I would’ve focused on the fucking guy using his bankai FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER SINCE BECOMING THE VICE CAPTAIN and then getting bodied as a focal point in my strategic analysis. But what do I know. This is a kid’s manga and I found a huge plot hole. I’m no military man.
First time in battle I believe, probably not his first time ever. They mention he got his bankai before anyone else aside from Captain Commander. He’s been around since the beginning and been offered a Captain’s seat numerous times. I’m guessing he was no slouch, just unfortunate that he was the first one to experience the trick of the sternritter. Something to note is that Sasakibe’s zanpaktou had changed into it’s shikai form, but we don’t know if that means he was able to use it after his bankai was negated, or if he had tried shikai first (more likely, considering) and the blade had just remained in that form.
If the captains who lost bankai start using their shikai, then I’m completely wrong - wouldn’t be the first time But there’s enough evidence at this point to suggest that the captains have lost more than just their bankai.
who the fuck is that? Im excited, its a shame these episodes are only 11-13 pages long
(Are we actually arguing over this? Oh, who am I kidding? Of course we are.)
Guys, guys. We all already know Kubo is shitty writer, so, if nothing else, can’t we just agree that Yamamoto is written atrociously for a 1000 year-old leader? No wonder Soul Society seems to have such a high “body” count. Maybe he’s intentionally horrible so that more people will be reborn due to that poorly explained–as with most of Bleach’s internal mechanics–cycle of reincarnation given everyone so’s stupidly long lived in Soul Society if they aren’t viciously murdered.
Too bad even that bit of faux, probably untrue “Fridge Brilliance” still doesn’t work because when the Quincy “kill” people they supposedly straight destroy souls or whatever somehow, meaning Yamamoto still looks bad.
Yeah, we don’t know about Kenpachi, but that was kinda my point: there was no reason to hold him back since they haven’t found out anything else, aren’t finding out anything else, the Bankai thing that they know has no effect on him and they don’t exactly have the luxury of time.
If the four Bankai actually were all coordinated, then that particular plan was even dumber than it already seemed to be, which is…saying something. I understand that plans often don’t go “just as planned”, especially since “boards don’t hit back”, but there is still literally no excuse for Byakuya to not just have used Renji as a guinea pig given “the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few”…and the many need to stop getting their asses kicked by the Quincy.
Various quotes aside, Vulcan logic still dictates that if they were actually all in communication with each other, then you get the weakest person to give up his Bankai, especially if you only think you can get it back and if said person is with someone’s whose Shikai was actually shown to work. If one of the Captains absolutely had to sacrifice their Bankai for some reason, then it should have been Komamura’s, whose sucks and is a liability, or Soi Fon’s, who hates hers and which is useless at close-range anyway.
There’s no in-character reason for Byakuya to have acted like he did.
haha, it’s still funny because Byakuya actually does have one of the top-rank bankai (at least of the ones that were shown) in the Bleach universe… B’s power isn’t just “good”, it’s goddamn trump card-level shit, folks… and on top of that, this is a character that is normally shown to be a genius when it comes to strategy and tactics and all that jazz. Ehhhh this has all been said before though…
I’m at least looking forward to who this mystery person is that gave Urahara the “!? …oh shit…” face. It has to be someone in the upper ranks of power for him or her (ooh… where’s Unohana right now?!)to have that reaction and to have just sliced Nazi-boy in half like that. Chances are good this will be a disappointment (and possibly nonsensical) though. It would be strange to have this be the moment for an Aizen return… if I were writing this… if it’s not Gin or even TOUSENNNN!(*though he’s supposedly dead, right? I can’t even remember what happened at the end of his fight), I’d go with a new character from the Royal Guard that Urahara knows from way back in the day.
