Yeah, Kenpachi I think would prefer his bankai to get stolen. Gives him more of a challenge.
Last chapter shows you can use Shikai even when your Bankai gets stolen. Not sure if people realized that, or I’m stating the super obvious.

IMO, Uryuu will be the one to kill Mayuri, prep time or not.
Mayuri killed Souken and many Quincies for his research and he shouldn’t have survived Letzt Still the first time. Now that Uryuu got powered up by Bach, Mayuri won’t survive a second time against him and is a fitting end for Mayuri.
If Mayuri beats Askin, which is very probable, I think is fair.
He will finish with a 2-2 record. Beat Szayel, beat Askin and defeated two times by Uryuu.

Can everyone everywhere please stop saying that Ishida beat Mayuri the first time. It is flat out untrue. It wasn’t even a tie. At the end of the fight Mayuri needed to do serious recovery but Ishida was going to DIE. The only reason he didn’t die is because he was saved after he had already lost.

Not that Mayuri isn’t a psychopath, but I think the current arc’s new information on the backstory between the shinigami and quincies should be factored into that situaion. The original telling of that story significantly simplified and understates the amount of tension between those two groups. Like i said, he’s still sick, but when you factor all of the information in what happened with Uryuu’s grandfather comes off as a little more strategic and slightly less evil.
Also since there are two live Quincies I am wondering if Ryuuken can fill in for Uryuu for whatever purpose he may need to die for
