Bleach 2: Dark Souls (Nintendo DS) thread

LoL Justice? The hell you doin here?

I was looking for a regional matchup thread to see if there’s anyone in this state who doesn’t suck at video games, and I saw this thread.

If anybody is down for some with the JP version aim me.

Anyone got any strats/combos/cool shit for Hisagi, Urahara and Aizen? I guess you could play Hisagi kind of like a 3s character with the whole command dash mixup stuff. Also, is there any use for Medium-level specials at all? It just seems to me like most of them have too much of a delay to be useful.

Hisagi’s standard TAFS:
[5AB(2B) > TAFS > j(A)BC]x3 > 5AB2B > 236AA > SuA > jAAAB > djAAAB > 623A/C

He’s got short range and bad speed, so to win with him you need to work on utilizing his slide effectively (it cancels his normals, like an FS) to get in and out and using his 236 mixup.

As for Urahara, he’s got nothing other than his standard launch combo or a very simple TAFS (none of his specials chain). Just use those and spam his specials for pressure while you close in, and use his RF Shield when you think they’re going to FS/GC into an attack.

Finally, Aizen’s cool combos are mostly gone, and his RFs can be FS’d through for whatever reason, so just do basic super combos (maybe extend a few with RF Fireball) and save your stock for damage cancels and SuB. If you do get SuB:

[41236A > 2ABC]xN > 5ABC > jAB > djAB > [8FS > jAB}x3 > jC

Medium level specials tend to be kind of situational. Medium projectiles are pretty useful, and medium specials with a delay can be used for approach pressure or okizeme. Some can be used in combos (usually wallbounce setups or during Kurotsuchi’s Nemugrab). For example, Tosen can do 41236C > 41236B with the proper spacing.

ya man im online time after time anywon got dem Friend codes shawty lol

Cool, thanks for this. TAFS? Woul this be Teleport Attack Flash Step or something?

Close. It’s “To Air Flash Step”. It’s when you’re on the ground and you FS diagonally upwards so you’re in the air slightly above your opponent. Generally, after a TAFS, you land and dash in before hitstun ends to continue the combo.

I kind of assumed it was a given since it’s a pretty common technique. If not, sorry.

Also, I just realized Aizen’s Bankai loop isn’t 5ABC, it’s 2ABC. I’ve changed the original post to reflect that.

Ah, I see. I’m not too familar with BDS jargon but thanks!

I just picked up this game. My lawd this game is too hot! I never played the original due to waiting for the sequel to make it stateside (that was already out in Japan). Seems the community is conflicted over which version is better…?

But anyway, I am gonna be down for some Online tonight. Still learning the game but I will give it my all. I will post my FC once I get home to a decent connection. PM me if you are interested.

Also, this thread is top tier. Subscribes

yo niggas here is my friend code 116128654702
add me up and lets play

Medium specials have horrendous startup but most of them have very little to no cool down.

Eh, I played online today and got reminded of why I disliked this game in the first place. It just seems too combo-centric for me. I don’t like being hit with a reletively easy 50 hit 10 second long combo just because some random hit of mine got blocked or I took the first hit at the start of a match, which is what most of my matches consisted of =(. I get bored just watching my guy get comboed when there’s nothing I can do about it. I mean I know I’m scrubby as hell at this and I’m not gonna drop it just yet but damn.

fffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff

First hit= 1 meter is dumb.

I’ll be online probably tonight (4-5 hours from now) so if anyone wants a game, PM me a bit in advance.

As I have horribly limited funds, I have a question that will make or break this game for me, is Hanataro any good, or is he garbage in this game?

You have tried bursting out of the combos right?

Half the time I can’t burst because I have no meter because I didn’t get the first hit raaaaaaaaaaaage x_x

You should have played the first game, then. With cards (which let me drain your stock), I could do a five-minute long infinite on you with Kurotsuchi that only ends when you die. I could also do one with Soifon that would kill in ten seconds, instantly drain your stock, and could be done off any hit, air or ground. If you want, I can show you how it’s done if you happen to have the first game. It’s pretty amusing to watch and to do, although not so much fun to play against seriously.

In short, a short BnB combo is nothing compared to the badass maneuvers you could pull the first game. Dark Souls is a lot more shallow, you should have seen Tosen in Blade of Fate. His BnB was this:

jBC > a236A > 5AB > 236A > 5AB > TAFS > jBC > a236A > 5AB > 236A > 5AB > TAFS > jBC > a236A > 5AB > 236A > 5AB > BOFS > 5AB2C > 41236A > 41236B > 2AC > jAAB > djAAAB > BOFS > jAAB > aSuA

This is basically it without the wallbounce extension, so it actually goes on even longer than this:

A Soi Fon infinite? seriously?
