of course the character i pick is all the way on the bottom.
Tager is certainly the worst character, there’s no question of that, but he’s not unplayably bad. He’s the only character in the negative end of the spectrum with a double digit score, and I think that’s inaccurate.
I <3 the fact that, once again, my characters are sitting below the halfway mark. Oh well, gotta make 'em look good…or something.
Tao-Ling ftw?
nice. bottom two…
went from being bottom half Zangief SSF2THDR to top half Zangief SFIV and now to this. lol, tager ftw
I hate the fact that by doing so he degenerated the character completely, making him boring as hell to play against and even more boring to play with. I’d liken him to Ironman in MvsC2 but IM had a much better ground game and was far more enjoyable to play with / against.
Can somebody tell me why Tager is rated so low? He is the only character I play, and although the game has just came out, he seems like he has a lot of answers for all kinds of situations. He also has the huge damage to go along with the mistake you forced.
Try playing Tager against v-13, and that should answer your question. He has a some downright TERRIBLE match-ups.
Still love playing Tager none the less.
tager vs v-13 isnt all that bad really, if you have cat like reflexes ( which i ocasionally do ) If I could upload this dumb replay against a decent v-13 i played the other day, you could see why. I barely won it, but it is winnable
on the other hand the only frustrating as fuck matchups for tager are
1.arakune if he gets you in the corner
1.good rachael’s ( about maybe 10% of people that play her)
2. smart jin players ( so only 1% of the players that play jin )
3. smart v-13 players ( see above statistic )

DIO, I don’t think single-handedly did it. There are more Carl players than you know and they can do some pretty sick stuff with him as well. I think it was a group effort. Remember DIO only has more videos.
Sadly despite having a lot better options then your average grappler, a number of his moves have flaws that can be exploited. Sledge Hammer B’s travel distance is such that if they see you charge it, they can back dash to a safe distance and punish. His 2D almost makes up for a lack of a dash but it loses to a lot of other attacks. The Magnet fireball also has the unfortunate tell of needing the magnetic meter full and to catch them into certain damaging combos or just keep them from flying right over your head.
Overall, it is a lot of his moves have advantages but the fact is, every character in the game is faster and more mobile then him. And a lack of solid anti air attacks make it hard to stop certain characters. He isn’t nearly so bad that you couldn’t win against everyone but it depends a lot on you and being able to find your spot.
Gah! I hate Carl’s character design. Everytime I see him, it reminds me of Harry Potter.
Now Hakumen…that’s a manly badass character right threre.
…however, my main is Arakune. I have a bad habit of using the most weird characters in fighting games.
As for the tier list itself, I don’t really think it means too much at this point. Give the game some more time for people to really dig into the characters, and it’ll all change. I’m just glad that there’s no SFIV Sagat type of character in BlazBlue. You know, basically an overpowered bitch that has an answer for every situation and is easy to pick up.
I play tager I think Taokakas also a bad matchup for Tager. But I disagree that he’s bottom shit tier. He can destroy alot of characters when played smart mainly because of his insane strength.
Yeah, he may be the hardest character to win with but anyone tell you he is shit, definitely hasn’t played against a good Tager. He can go against and win with any character in the game, it just takes a slightly less aggressive approach when dealing with smarter players as they usually know or can exploit Tager’s flaws.
I’m in love with Nu. She’s just so awesome with her swords.
tager according other tier lists seems to have a 6-4 for tager vs carl in tager s favor? this list is messed up
I fucking hate you.
His only anti-air options would either be a psychic 2C or backdash > normal throw. The situation is pretty desperate.
Sagat is far from easy to pick up. Alot of his character traits keep him from being very good in the hands of someone who doesn’t know what they’re doing. There are much “easier to pick up” characters in SFIV. A good player needs to be behind the wheel for Sagat to truly shine.
Sagat is one of the easiest characters to pick up. Spamming Tiger Shots, Tiger Knees, trade into Ultra… high damage, good frame advantage, low risk moves.
Compare to Ken who much harder to play even though he’s a “noob character”.
Sagat is easier to pick up than most characters. Mastering him is different, but he is easier to pick up than Vega, Ken, or Guile.
