Blazblue PSP

First off, I apologize if there has already been a thread about this, if it’s old news or if it’s posted in the wrong forum. But anyways, after visiting a few sites I happened to stumble upon an announcement and scans about the upcoming Blazblue PSP game. There will be new features, such as an extra mode called “Legion”. It looks quite interesting.

Here are links to some scans and info about this game:

Thoughts anyone?

No, you can leave it here. I remember reading about it, thankfully this is a 4 button layout game so it should be pretty playable.

Oh god. The trailer showing unlimited Tager is fucking hilarious.

will this have multiplayer? not Ad hoc? if it has ad hoc, they should make it compatible with the ps3 ad hoc app.

When this drops State-Side, I hope that this game has online play, if not, I’ll guess I have to play Ad-Hoc Party on the PS3. I need to get this so I can practice BB when I’m away and around.

Awesomeness, my fingers are gonna bleed.

The Wheel of Fate is Turning?

On PSP (PlayStationPortable) System and PlayStationStore

Torrance, CA (January 15th, 2010) ? Aksys Games, a publisher of interactive entertainment products, proudly announces Blazblue Portable, coming March 2010! The console version of BlazBlue was recently a top-4 finalist for the VGA Awards, and Aksys Games is proud to announce we will be bringing an updated version to the PSP system and PlayStationStore.

This game is the ultimate 2D fighting game on the go! BlazBlue features all of the console modes?Arcade, Versus, Score Attack, Training, and Story?in addition to the all-new Shop and Legion modes, where you control your own party of fighters in an attempt to conquer the world of BlazBlue.

?Every frame of animation and hit box is painstakingly replicated from the original game, so all of your combos work without a hitch. It?s really nice when you need your BB fix on the go,? says Michael Manzanares, Project Lead. ?And new Unlimited versions of your favorite characters don?t hurt, either.?

* Drive your way to victory!Use the unique ?Drive Attacks? specific to each character to decimate your opponent.Control the elements, like wind or ice, or even absorb the life-force of your opponents.
* Multiplayer battles via Ad-Hoc ModeBattle with up to four players in a single room and play with custom rule sets. Two people will fight each other at a time while the others spectate.
* Legion ModeBuild your army and conquer the map! Have up to 20 members join your party.
* Shop ModeUse in-game currency to purchase illustrations and Unlimited characters.

Audio took a major hit, sounds HYPER compressed, sounds ok but without my headphones in the audio wasnt at the level I was used to hearing the music at. But was expected.

Color seemed off for some reason. Like maybe its just my screen (original PSP) but when I went to pick Litchi and brought up her color pallet I looked at her default color and it looked like it was Black, Orange, Black. Of course it was her default color, but While picking her it seemed off. And In game her dress was certianly not as vibrant. But once again it might be my PSP.

The shortcuts were mapped to the analog nub which is ok I guess. But I have the old PSP with the shitty d-pad so it was hard to/impossible to do the dragon punch motion lol.

Over all great port, took the hits in the places we would all expect id think. Combo’s still worked, looking forward to jump in to the added stuff. Kinda mad I got done with the school work early and dint bring my PSP to play while waiting for the next class lol.

DON’T TALK ABOUT ANY SORT OF PIRACY.

^I suggest you edit your post because mentioning downloads (piracy) is ban-worthy…

I recommend people read over the forum rules before they start posting things. If something seems questionable, it probably is.

Is this game import-only as of right now?

yeah but it’s no big deal, it’ll still work.

Oh I know imports still work on PSP/DS. I thought this was also coming state-side though… Oh well, I don’t mind importing since I have a stack of imported PSP games already.

Except Aksys has confirmed to release it stateside. No need to import unless you really need your Blazblue fix on the go.

Blazblue Portable, Japanese Version
Play-Asia: In Stock

I imported this…and I love it. Sure theres downsides like not being able to use a stick…but being able to practice timing combos stuff is awesome.

I guess there maybe a reason to keep the ol psp around a bit longer then, lol

I have the game already and so far so good. It’s basically the same port of console version but with downgraded sprites and less background animation. The character portraits in story mode remain clean and sharp. The legion mode is quite fun yet challenging. The shop mode lets you buy gallery images and “story mode-help scenarios.”

I still need to pick this one up, I’d like to take my BlazBlue on the go.

Yeah the game is the same as the console version and I find it really fun to play it on the go. Though, not enough people have the game to play ad-hoc with.
