is it really as crappy as it appears to be? i mean it took me like 20 mins just to get 1 match in… and when i finally was able to get past all the “lobby full” or “cant connect” boxes the match was full of lag… anyone know about a patch or something to smooth out the online gameplay? :tdown:

You need it to play people who patched, which is almost everyone.
Are you sure you aren’t playing Street Fighter 4? I kid, I kid.
I think if you don’t patch it signs you out of PSN, which means you can’t play online anyways.
Sorry to hear you’re having problems. I’m having the opposite experience as you. Maybe the game doesn’t like something specific to your setup/settings?
What I don’t like is that every player match has all slots filled for private, or you can’t connect, then once you connect to a room you get kicked because the host is waiting for a friend without using the private slot feature. T.T

well actually i know its blazblue specific because i play alot of sf4(pre bb ahah) and i get super good connections that are smoother than mike jackson… but blazblue doesnt give me super bad lag but you guys should know how it is… if its even the tiniest bit laggy it really makes a difference…
Try OpenDNS. Helped me out on numerous games.
Make sure you are NAT type 2 as well. That will solve most of your “unable to connect” issues once you have done that and downloaded the patch.

You ain’t alone man. I’ve had mixed connections with different people on PS3. Same situation as you with rooms. I see so many that aren’t full but can’t enter, exc. Even after a refresh it still wasn’t full lol. Most of my matches were pretty damn smooth, except for a few that were god awful loading or matches that were so laggy I couldn’t even time a single move to land -.-;. Ranked matches I have yet to see a problem thank heavens they seem to load way faster.
P.S. Where is all the arakunes on PS3? lol
Connect has been shockingly amazing for me so far–got the new patch.

Based on my experience its usually always feels extra slow during “the wheel of fate is turning” but after that “Ready 1” should feel lagless.
Not sure if it makes a difference but I usually just enable UPnP in my router.
