Tier Lists are for Scrubs, Don’t pick your character from this, a Good Bang will walk on a Mediocre Makoto, If you get me? I posted this to kick up some Discussion, I’m trying my best to get BB Hyped on SRK, It’s a really downplayed game IMO.

Note: The S Tier is completely wrong IMO, Makoto is strong, But she doesn’t deserve a Tier of her own, Couple her with Hazama, and Put Platinum infront of Mu and then I agree with this.

Anyone Agree?

I’m pretty sure from discussions on Dustloop that the tiers are not arranged in any special order WITHIN tiers; Which is to say that people don’t necessarily feel that, say, Mu is better than Platinum or Noel is better than Hazama. Anyway, differences within tiers are so slight as to not really be worth arguing.

I disagree that you feel that Makoto is on par with Hazama - I know you’re a big Hazama pusher, but he doesn’t have her advantages. Top level Makoto combos can do Hazama-with-meter level damage (she has an 8k “no meter” (no meter at start, earns 50 for the DD at the end) midscreen combo off her fatal counter, which is her freakin’ 2C, which is not at all unlikely to hit), and she has far better oki thanks to her ridiculous glowy ball. Hazama is more mobile, which gives him a better matchup against a couple of people, but against anyone who needs to fight ‘hand to hand’ Makoto has a big edge, and even on the others, she only has to potentially get in once to win the match, because it’s midscreen->Corner with oki, and a potential kill on the next combo. Her corner push is much better than Hazama’s as well. Now this is only at very high levels, and requires very precise execution, but she’s really a monster. Having the fastest “Normal” overhead in the game doesn’t hurt either. =/ Hazama can blow people up, no question, but his midscreen no-meter options are limited in terms of damage and advantage, while Makoto can carry from corner to corner for 3.5k off a 5B.

It’s also probably worth noting that last I checked, no Hazama players had qualified for SBO, while there were at least two Makotos. That’s just purely circumstantial evidence, but it does point to her having an edge.

Anyway, I’d personally just arrange it as (no order within tiers):
“Top” tier: Makoto
"Strong" tier: Noel, Hazama, Litchi, maybe Jin (Truthfully, I haven’t seen any really epic Jin stuff, so while people say he’s strong, I haven’t seen serious examples of him being any stronger than most of the cast.)
“Entirely competitive” Tier: Everyone else except…
“Needs a bit more love” Tier: Tager.

I’m by no means a Hazama pusher, I play him, But my Main is infact Makoto. I’ve played them both enough to sum up an opinion. I respect yours, but I’ll keep mine.

And from Dustloop, I was almost sure they were listed in order, Thus the Horizontal layout.

Fair enough, sorry, I just saw you popping up in all the Hazama-related threads talking about how he was S+

What are your thoughts on Jin? Also, Dustloop is back. For now.

S+ With 50 Heat!

Indifferent about Jin, he does everything well, but nothing Incredible, Y’know? Solid All-Rounder, And most of his moves are + on block, So…Solid, Good DP’s. Worthy of his place.

Jin does everything well but nothing incredible? lolokay ;_;

Also makoto does deserve her own tier, her pressure game is solid and can frame trap for days. Couple that with her damage and that she doesnt afraid of anything and you’re set.

Do you really find that phrase difficult to understand?

In CS2, Her Damage Remained the same and she gained a few more uses for her 214X, Regardless of Tournament placings too, (For the Hombre that mentioned it) It’s more to do with the players skill. Tsujikawa beat CS1 Bang (Satoshi) with Taokaka in the Grand Finals. Kinda irrelevant? Of course it is, I just fail to see how after a few relatively minor changes she is thrown aboard the S Train.

Do you know how tier lists work? theyre based off matchups. Those changes they made to makoto along with the changes to the cast made matchups for her alot better, thus moving her up. Yes Tsujikawa beat Satoshi’s Bang with Tao. Afterwards, Tao moved up in the tiers, to right below the litchi and bang.

Yeah, I know that don’t fret, I’m just saying I don’t Agree with it.

Do not know the original source for this chart but found it on dustloop
6 - 4 is the worst match up on the chart.

I don’t REALLY believe that some of Tager’s matchups aren’t worse than 6/4, nor do I think that chart is particularly credible or accurate… but at the same time, the HUGE majority of matchups in this game are 5.5/4.5 or balanced. It’s very good.

I’ve seen 2 different tier lists from arcadia, they were close to this but not quite. One had Valk on low B, and both had Rachel very high.

If you think that some ‘minor changes’ are all makoto got and that she isn’t as good as people profess then you need to learn the character more, because I doubt the community as a whole compared to one person is wrong.

Those ‘minor changes’ cause ‘major differences’, and as such she got MUCH stronger.

Also Tsujikawa is a better player.

I never said you were wrong, I said I didn’t agree, Dont turn a mountain into a molehill (Plus, If we’re willy waving, I’ve played her exactly 1294 times. Not loads, But enough to base a judgement on her)

 • Airk, I guess it would be from some Pro 1337 Hax JP players like Kaqn and Dennou. If you know how to avoid tagers simple things like SB and Tech Traps, He is beatable. But, Since I netplay, People (Usually under level 30) are free if you pick tager, Walking into 720’s, Trying to attack on my Wakeup. Blergh.

Not entirely sure what the context is here? I was saying that Tager’s WORST matchups (Hazama, mostly, probably Arakune too) are probably worse than 6/4 against, because, as you say, if you can avoid his basic tricks, he’s not particularly fierce… and ESPECIALLY unfierce for characters that don’t ever need to get near him to win.

For some reason I thought Arakune was higher in the tiers. Guess I was wrong. This doesn’t bother me as in almost every fighter I have I main low tier characters and make them work. Based on that matchup chart though, this game is way too balanced for tiers to mean anything.

Arakune has a fairly finite number of “good” ways to get curse, and he’s pretty bad if he can’t get it. That said, at anything other than the very top level of play, he’s super mean, because a properly sneaky player should have no trouble filling that curse bar.

Something to remember about BBCS2: The only “low tier” character (in the sense that, say, Hakan is low tier in SSF4) is Tager. EVERYONE ELSE is basically either A-tier or S-Tier. I also have a few issues with the content of the above list - it should not be taken as gospel.

Hakumen is the best, yo!

Ragna is B??

Ragna was B. This is the CS2 Tier list.

Ragna is S in extend.

For reference, the most current Tier list looks something like:

Current JP BBS Assessment List: 3/27/2012
S Rank: Ragna, Taokaka, Arakune, Hakumen, Valkenhayn
A: Carl, Hazama, Platinum, Mu, Noel, Bang
B: Everyone Else
No difference within rank
