Does anyone know how to activate the overdrive?
Unfortunately, no. I do however suspect it’ll be kind of like HD mode in KOFXIII.
Overdrive replaced the gold burst.
I know that. But HOW do I activate the overdrive??? I don’t want to repeat that question again!
If Overdrive is done the same as Gold Burst, which is done the same as Normal Burst, then how do you now Normal Burst? in that case?
Oh sorry, I was mistaken overdrive like it’s a character power-up game-play feature. (-_-)
Huh? It IS a character power up game feature.
You activate it by pushing all four buttons at once when you’re not in hit/blockstun, the same way you used to do gold bursts.
What’s the confusion?
Also, apparently the less health you have, the better Overdrive is?
uhm… sorry!?
Like Airk said, it’s done the same way you activate gold burst.
And yes, the lower your health the longer it lasts.
And no, its not like X-factor since every character gets a unique powerup not just a dumb power boost.
For example, Hazama gets a healing ring around him that heals him if the opponent steps in the ring.
Makoto’s drive gets new properties allowing combo’s that are not possible otherwise.
I get that it’s done A+B+C+D, but as Gold Burst and Normal Burst are both ALSO done with A+B+C+D, it begs the question of whether they’ll have a separate command.
There is no Gold burst anymore. They removed it. Overdrive occupies that input now.
I think you’re missing my point. And that’s “What about GREEN BURST?”. Which, has to have some input unless you’re saying there’s no Burst AT ALL.
Game looks flashy as fuck, looks faster, however I was hoping for more changes.
I dunno, looks… well can’t say since day 1 stuff.
Overall, I can’t say if it’ll be as fun as CT days or not. However, not seeing anything that’s making me shit myself in terms of gameplay. Game looks almost the same and kind of disguises itself behind all the new hit spark effects and backgrounds.
I dunno… need that console release date.
Green burst is activated by pressing A+B+C+D while in hit or blockstun.
Overdrive is activated by pressing A+B+C+D while NOT in hit or blockstun.
So yes, the inputs are exactly the same. It’s just the activation conditions that are different.
It’s basically the same as it was in Extend, only difference is that Gold burst is removed and replaced by Overdrive.
Do you think this game will get released really far apart in Japan and NA or do you think they’ll do a close release like with Persona. I know they said they aren’t going to region lock a PS3 game again so does that mean they’ll go back to their old release tactics?

Alright, that makes sense. All ya had to do was say so, lol.
In the past, with the BlazBlue series the titles have been released separated by a month apart from JP to NA.
Hard to say about this one.
Probably.
I just hope we actually get to see the game in the EU without having to wait 5 years.
I believe we got Extend a week after NA, so there still is a little bit of hope we actually get to play the game before the end of next year. But on the other hand…
We still don’t have Persona over here. Shit, we don’t even have a release date.
Shit is unacceptable. Fuck Zen united.
EX came out rather quickly.
Imported the JP version and before I knew it EX had landed in NA.
Sucks to hear about the EU side on Persona.
BTW you guys get persona, Blazblue CP hype will already take over. Thing is, was hoping persona to get it’s fair share of an international release as it did open up doors to those interested in anime fighters, giving the new Blaz a fighting chance once it hits console.
I’m most likely not alone, but man do I hope BBCP drops over here by March. I don’t think I could possibly wait until the summer to play it.
