BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma EXTEND announced!

Btw, just finished watching Alter Memory episode 2… just wondering what they’re gonna do with remaining 10 episodes since they basically fit Calamity Trigger’s True End into 2… (2nd half of the Hakumen fight was cool though)

Edit: I must admit I laughed a little when Noel falls flat on her butt xd

Spoiler

Still not good.

Out of curiousity, does the link for the first episode still work, and if so could someone list it?

Edit: Nevermind.

Wow people are bashing BlazBlue Alter Memory. Seems like nobody enjoys watching animes anymore.

Well, people will always have certain hopes and expectations for things that will seemingly never be met. No matter how good the anime may or may not be, there will always be people complaining it’s garbage. I mean hell, one of the main complaints I’ve heard is “they spent all the animation budget on Noel summoning Bolverk”.

The QnA thread seems dead, so I figured I’d ask here. I’m looking to start getting into Blazblue to prep for Chrono Phantasm. So my question is, which character(s) would be best for just going ham on people? I used to be a grappler back in the day, but as of late of love me some full offense, in your face type of stuff. Just goin’ straight ham on an opponent is hella fun. Watching them crack under the pressure is a beautiful thing. Also, if anyone knows the answer to this question for Guilty Gear as well, that’d be neat, though obviously not a big deal.

There isn’t anyone in BB who can completely just “go nuts” and expect it to not end badly (except for Arakune during curse, but that’s something of a special case).

There are, however, lots of characters whose game involves applying pressure in some way.

You can probably just try Ragna; He’s certainly strong, and his pressure is dangerous.
You could also pick Bang, who probably has better ‘tricks’ for pressure than Ragna does, but overall gets less reward for a hit.
Or you could try Tao, whose game pretty much revolves around just…doing stuff until your opponent hits the wrong button and gets hit.
Valk has powerful pressure in wolf form, but it’s time limited by his gauge. Also, his movement is weird.
Rachel has strong pressure when she can get George/pumpkin out, and this allows you a few moments of “do whatever” if you can set it up.
Carl can pressure for days if he can catch you in a ‘sandwich’.
Relius can apply strong pressure for a while but needs to manage his wife gauge.
Litchi has good mixup, but that’s not quite the same as ‘pressure’.

So yeah. Dunno. There’s a lot of room for interpretation in “going ham” :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m not sure what you mean but you might want to try out Noel or Tao and then rethink what you’re looking for. For Guilty Gear (^Core+) I recommend trying out Jam or I-No: Jam for her multiple combo options and multi-hitting attacks, and I-No because (while being a very complex character) a good I-No player is just a nightmare. I’m definitely no expert but rest of GG’s cast are either a) rushdown characters with ok mixup (Sol & Ky), b) feature an extra mechanism like A.B.A.'s second form and Zappa’s ghosts, c) or favor defense-play over straight offense, like Baiken (that’s me!) and Johnny. Or just pick Justice.

[waiting to get scolded by Airk]

Every character in BlazBlue can go ham, it’s a momentum game. If you’re looking for a character with minimal setup required and a low learning curve, then Ragna will work. Arakune and Carl have the scariest pressure in the game, but it’s setup-dependent. Rachel, Litchi, and Taokaka are just behind them, but I would say they are three of the trickier characters to learn in terms of neutral.

As far as Guilty Gear (and especially in +R), the only correct answer is I-No. She’s a Marvel character.

Because it’s utter shit. And being an anime doesn’t excuse it from being utter shit. It’s easier to jump right into MGS4 with no prior mgs experience and understand whats going on than this anime. Not to mention the fights suck.

I don’t know squat about GG, so you could’ve told him to play Winston Churchill and all I would’ve said was “Huh, I didn’t know he was in that game…” so… :stuck_out_tongue:

They know. They fucking know. Hell, the guy who’s directed and produced the series is supervising the production. The audience is supposed to be confused, weren’t you the first time you played the game? Ragna’s story didn’t start out telling that…[details=Spoiler]…“Hey, here’s this Ragna guy who’s Jin and Saya’s brother, Jin cut off his hand because this other guy Yuuki Terumi (btw who’s also known as Hazama) told him to, Ragna is the Black Beast’s other half and also in the past he was known as Bloodedge because in one timeline he was thrown into the past etc.”[/details] It’s called storytelling and respecting the fiction. And giving a crap.

You may read this as an angry fanboy ranting but even if you don’t like the first 2 episodes of this 12 episode adaptation, I’d suggest you keep watching until they jump the shark in “betrayal” -style. Trust me, this is nowhere near Disgaea.

Anyhow I’m still adding you on PSN.

I’ve been playing since CT and I’m still confused.

Everyone is except for those who have read Phase 0-4…

But here’s the thing. Jumping right into CT, I can still get some exposition. I know that some kind of creature attacked the world. I can find out that the world is a post apocalyptic one that’s recovering. I know that Noel KNOWS what Ragna looks like and KNOWS what the hell bolverk is because they at least take a moment to explain that stuff early on, even if not in depth.

I’m not gonna stop watching it, I’m gonna see it through to the end, but my expectations have plummeted.

Quoting this because it’s shorter than your other post, but Blazblue PSNs for when BBCP comes out is actually always nice. Mind shooting me yours so I don’t get curbstomped by Japanese players that have been playing it since arcade?

Thanks mate, mine’s in my sig. Then again I live in Europe so I’ll be getting my copy like 2 weeks after launch so even all the Japanese players who haven’t played the game in arcades have 800psr by then…

OMG 5 days left! XD

Yep, 5 days left till it’s out…17+ days till it gets here to Canada from Asia.

But hey at least all the new music tracks get shared in YT instantly (I ordered the LE with soundtrack so my conscience is clean)!
